Now if he can bring Doncic with him. Porzingas too. And Marjanovic. Heck, Barea. And Cuban... then we have a chance.
Somewhat bittersweet. I wanted to give a young guy a chance so I got that, but I love JVG and am sad he didn't get a chance, and I love Lucas, as well, and ... we lost Morey. Of the choices we had left, I think we made the right choice. We still have Lucas, and we have a coach that can grow with us hopefully because at some point this team will need to get younger. In the meantime, he's got a player to coach (Harden) who is similar to one he's already used to (Doncic) in terms of style, usage, etc. Even better, he's been around big name players and winning franchises/coaches. His only shock may be having to pay for his own coffee. This ain't the Mavs. lol.
Welcome to the Rockets !! I'm happy we aren't going to run that famous JVG offense that made scoring 90 points amazing
What are you talking about? JVG was 5 years younger than Silas when we hired him. Silas just looks like a damn 20 year old - he's like 47. lol.
JVG just didn't seem like a good fit with this group. I'm glad we went with "new blood" so to speak. Kerr, Spoelstra, Vogel, and Stevens all made good as rookie coaches, hopefully Silas can continue that trend.
As long as it was either Silas or JVG, I would have been happy. It’s not John Lucas, so I’m very relieved, even though it doesn’t change the fact Tilman is right there with James Dolan for worst owner in the NBA. Hence my silver lining in a dark cloud comment earlier.
I like the hire, but how much player development can he do on the oldest team in the Association that has no draft picks? Makes me wonder what the roster moves are going to be.
I'm fine with it. Let's see what he can do, he deserves that much. Some of the best moves aren't celebrated.
