Paywall but here's the link: https://theathletic.com/2161829/202...ran-mlb-houston-astros-sign-stealing-scandal/

Hinch positioned himself as a pillar of sanity while brushfires broke out around his organization. Yet some in the industry remember how Hinch handled an incident with the Yankees during last year’s playoffs. There were rumors about the Astros communicating stolen signs through whistling. Asked about the allegations, Hinch said he laughed. “In reality,” he said, “it’s a joke.” One executive conveyed his disgust with the “arrogance” expressed by the manager.

“It just had like a (tone of), ‘**** you guys, we’re just better than you. We’re so good we don’t need to exchange signals or signs. Because we’re just better than you,’” the executive said. “And then, oh, lo and behold, sorry, we were actually ****ing cheating for a good portion of the time.”

From the article, something that continually (and conveniently) gets glossed over/swept under the rug, "Some executives believe the Astros were far from alone in pushing boundaries with the technological capability found in the video room."

Where is the follow-up investigation?! Yankees letter? Dodgers/Brewers/etc.?

We were and still are better than the yankees. Even with our hampered and rookie bullpen. **** the yankees.

So the Yankees take Cole from the Astros.... the best pitcher in baseball........... the Astros lose the Cy Young winner for the year (Verlander), they lose their best bat for the year (Alvarez), the Astros lose one of the better closers for the year (Osuna)........ and the Astros STILL get farther than the Yankees.

    Go **** yourself NY

Yawn...these routine hit pieces don't even bother me anymore. So long as the Astros are contenders and beat up on the darlings of the league this will be a thing. I consider it a blessing really. They will keep rolling these out to keep the east coast and LA fan bases/subscribers happy. Flame on b****es!

I want the Yankees to fire their manager and hire Hinch. They'd still be blame Houston for all their problems.

The media doesn't really care about Hinch, Cora they were collateral damage in the media's quest to run Luhnow out of MLB.

    Mission accomplished

The media doesn’t care about Luhnow either. Everything Astros is clickbait and cash to them. They’re just taking advantage of the Astros scandal to enrich themselves. This crap will go on for years, even after all the players involved in the scandal are gone. We as fans just have a embraced and deal with it. Thus, this is why I won’t be rooting for guys like Springer who want to leave the Astros to get away from circus surrounding the scandal.

Did we cheat in the 2017 playoffs and World Series?

The cheating scandal was not used (I don’t believe) in the 2017 playoffs...winning teams made our system obsolete by changing signs too often. I also think MMP was too loud to hear the bangs. That said, the Stros were the proximate cause to WWI, WWII, and COVID19.

As an aside, if there was a *single* bang in any playoff game, it already would’ve been rehashed a million times over, which is another reason I don’t believe the system was used in the playoffs/WS.

We were cleared for the 2018 and 2019 post-season (page 4) but Manfred says on page 7 when discussing Hinch's discipline that we continued to use it in the 2017 post-season but as you stated it was basically useless due to complex signs and noise. They finally stopped altogether in the first half of the 2018 season

The Yankees and the MLB refused to reveal their formal investigation in a suit filed by draft kings back in June. Said they’d unseal them in August. Well friends it’s about to be November and not a peep.

Amen. Their stars are bums in the playoffs and their starting pitching (except for cole this year) has been mediocre at best.

I only trust Joe Buck to remember Juan Soto's age.
