I don't know if it has been metioned but in last nights game against Dallas, Steve was asked about his injury and if he would be ready for the playoffs? Steve according to the interviewer said "Get ready to see him put on a show". Steve has not been in the playoffs and already he is talking trash. I hope he is ready to back those words up. GO ROCKETS!!!!!!
how is that talking trash?? good to hear Steve is ready for the showdown!! We need him!! Go Rockets Go
Don't do nickpicking, man. When steve said this, you guys say how can you say that without any playoff experience; tomorrow when yao says I am not sure if we can win, you guys will come up with how the team can win when his star player is so inconfident. Gosh! -Littlefish
What in the hell are you talking about? The nitpicking was pointing out that steve didn't say what he was accused of. Why do people always try and turn things into steve vs yao?
Oski2005, Please read carefully before reply. I don't turn it Yao vs. Steve. I mean whatever a player says, good or bad, you guys always have something to say. That is it!
He didn't turn it into Steve vs Yao. He just pointed out that we wouldn't be satified with what either one of themhad to say regarding the upcoming series.
Well it is confusing. He uses the term nitpicking in reference to what iball said. Who is "Don't be nitpicking, man" addressed to? Is it to everybody in general or iball? Anyways, only one person is nitpicking (the thread starter), everybody else said they weren't bothered by it and then iball came in and set the record straight with the actual quote, which was even more harmless. So far, this thread has shown that people don't pick apart what the players say. Of course, there is a certain group of people, the Yetti's of the board and what not, who would do that. But fish's 2nd post clears up that he was addressing basically everybody when, again, this thread has shown that regular posters don't nitpick.
PREDICTION: Steve gets ATLEAST one triple double in the series and averages 20+ ppg. Yao is really the only player that I am worried about. He has looked really subpar lately and you Daddy is looking to make a statement about himself and his team. I hope that Yao can break out of this stretch and bring his A game or we're toast.
Dude, you called me out yesterday in the thread I started about Steve Francis, you called me out in a thread you started about Steve, and now you're calling me out in this one. I'll lighten up, but don't you think the first couple of times were enough. I really think you're a smart guy verse, and I to be honest I think you make your points a lot more clearly than I do, but sometimes you can really be arrogant.
To clear it up further, you look at the title "shut up or put up", I simply mean steve doesn't need to shut up But he does need to deliver.
LOL! Way to shut down the Steve Francis Haters! LMAO!!!! Yep, I guess in their language tune in the team means I AM THE BEST trash talking......
Steve is the least of my worries. I think this is what Steve has been missing for the last four years and its finally going to make him a complete player. The very thing that many of you are scared of, Steve's performance in the playoffs, is going to be the very thing that saves this franchise. Steve Francis is a player made for the 'big game'. The playoffs are going to be his stage to showcase his skills and talents. I think he's gonna blow the roof off of this series. I'm a rox fan through and through and I love BOTH Yao and Steve (GASP!!! , unthinkable to some) and I just hope that Yao has the energy. When Steve is complimented by an energetic and rabid Yao, we will crush anybody (that's spelled Defending champs, 3 time champs, or any one in the way). I will see all of yall that bleed rocket red at the Toyota Center on Friday and Sunday and Wednesday.
ROX definitely need SF3 for playing against Lakers. If SF3 could calm down in the coming games, as he did in the games against Knicks, Lakers and T-Wolves, he would give us a surprise. YAO must step up if he would want a championship in his career. Even if YAO was off (3/15) at the offensive end in the last game against Lakers, I am still impressed by his performance in one-on-one defending Shaq. Kobe may be only tough guy for ROX. Put CAT and Boki on Kobe pls.
