I am not saying we need to trade him. But I would rather he get traded to a team that will play him instead of sitting at the end of our bench, not progressing.

neither... or both - I am joking about all the BOKI fans on this board. I believe that they are starting to rival the YOFs and the SF3 - supports and after last night I look for them to become the radical third faction on the BBS !

don't they knoe that if the guy could shoot he would play

Good and deep bench is very important. MJ is cool but a little too old. Boki is the future, when Yao is double, we need some consistent 3 point shooter. He potentially can be the one. The nice thing is that he can also contribute defensively. :)

I don't think a "radical third faction" is forming -- it's just that many board members feel that Boki should be given a chance to play and succeed or fail.

I agree that one good game does not mean Nachbar is ready or that he can or can't shoot. He has always wowed everybody with his practice shooting but he seems to lose confidence in game situations. However, a few more cold blooded game winners like in the Seattle game will do much to instill the confidence he seems to lack.

I don't know about that. Boki-Nation has all the ingredients of becoming the third superpower of board supremacy:

    1. An inconsistent, sometimes infuriating player that has not played up to his potential. Check.

    2. Obvious talent that if only could be harnessed would make up a very good to great player. Check

    3. An excuse of "being young" is often used when defending said player's inconsistency. Check.

    4. Many board members want him to succeed and will conclude with the slightest bit of good play that maybe he has "gotten it." Not quite a Check yet, but it'll come soon.

    5. And the most important ingredient for the creation of a faction, a relentless basher that seems to have some kind of personal vendetta against said player, who riles other posters up into 5 page threads about how sucky the player is. Does the name Kayman mean anything to you. CHECK.

Gadzooks! You may be onto something here.

A significant portion of the board wants to keep him because they see a successful career for him. An equally significant portion of the board wants to get rid of him because they see his career as a bust.

Boki could hold the balance of power between the YOFs and the SOFs. Amazing concept you have here, m_c and Willis25.:D Did ya'll work this out together?

Boki's defense, not his shot, will determine his PT. We know Boki can shoot (in practice). In game time, it's just a matter of experience and confidence. His shot will come around eventually (same with Pike). What makes him get PT from JVG is his defense. If he plays solid defense, he'll be the first coming off the bench backing up JJ.

I want Boki to start at the 3.. I think hes done a great job defending 3's that are too big or too fast for JJ.. come on JJ is a 2 guard forced to play the 3... Boki is a real 3 .. tall, athletic, nice touch, good defense once he gets some experience watch out.

    J

    SF3 - PG
    JJ - SG
    Boki - SF
    Cato - PF
    Yao - C

Cat and MoT off the bench seems pretty good to me.

    From the Chronicle:

Second-year forward Bostjan Nachbar got his second consecutive start at small forward, offering another chance for him to show coach Jeff Van Gundy that he can be good enough defensively to earn postseason playing time.

"He's capable defensively. He's absolutely capable," Van Gundy said. "He's got pretty quick feet. He's got pretty good length. He should be an outstanding defender."

"It depends on the day with him. That's why it will be good to see if he can back up his last performance (Monday in Seattle) with another good performance."

Obviously JVG thinks he CAN play defence. I hope he’ll prove it again against the Lakers. :)
