You might have seen this on NBATV today or it will air soon. Southwest Airlines (where I work) and the NBA had a special tribute to the legendary Hall-of-Famers Dr. J, Bill Russell, soon-to-be HOF Clyde the Glyde, Moses Malone, Robert Parish, Spud Webb, Artis Gilmore, and George "The Iceman" Gervin.

Andre Aldridge was interviewing each one on how the playoffs are going to run and where's the champion coming out of: East or West. Majority of them said the champion will come out of the West. But they also said Indiana will be a huge factor from the East. Southwest Airlines even had a plane dedicated to the 2004 NBA Finals. They had the Larry O'Brien trophy...dammnn, it was OFF THE HOOK!

Clutch, you should of been there. :D

But getting to the title of my thread. All the HOFs were about to board the plane to jet off to San Antonio. Before Clyde did, I had to ask his perspective on how the Rockets will do in the playoffs. He laughed and said the Rockets will be out in 4. I also asked if Francis should be gone next year. He said the Rockets need to get rid of him. I know you guys might not believe me, but those were his words. Not once during the interviews he mentioned about the Rockets. Nor did Moses. I know I'm a Francis hater, but he's just gotta go.

I have pictures to this event. It will be posted on here soon. Can anyone be able to host it for me onto this thread (RockHEAD, Dave2000, etc)? If you can, email me and let me know (nwosmackdown@yahoo.com).

Damn, can you imagine having Clyde in his prime along with Yao-za?

I miss you, CLyde. The way you barreled down the floor, head down, straight to the rim. (sniff) :(

Didn't get a chance to ask him that. There were so many employees at this event crowding these HOFs. They were wanting autographs and pictures w/ the guys. And I only asked him when they were about to get on the plane. I was surprised by his 1st answer about the Rockets going out in 4, but not the 2nd answer about getting rid of Francis.

    Screw him and his opinion.

Although, on second thought, maybe the guy knows what he's talking about. I mean, he's got an eye for evaluating talent, right? He did a fantastic job as head coach at UH.

Who really cares what clyde thinks? I mean, dude was a GREAT player and I loved him for it but he proved pretty convincingly at UH that he knows little about coaching or talent evaluation.

I seriously doubt that you would have given creedence to anything he said that didn't coincide with your own well documented opinion.

Clyde always answers the question by rephrasing the question into an answer. It's classic Clyde.

Interviewer: "Do you think Pink Rabbits are beautiful?"
Clyde: You know what is beautiful, Pink Rabbits."

    Classic.

He likes you to feel like you got the answer you were looking for. And strangely it works.

Dude, i disagree. He NEVER answers questions, and is a hilarious mix of respectful, articulate, and totally incoherent. One of my favorite interviews, almost performace art.
