So the Astros just eliminated the Red Sox *and* the Yankees in the same year. They've eliminated the Yanks twice in the last three years.

I'd say that merits a promotion from the junior circuit, right?

    /tongue-in-cheek :D

Supposedly, this is first time one team has eliminated BOS and NYY same postseason.

1995 was the first year possible due to increased number of playoff rounds.

Now, let's beat another storied franchise and become Texas' first MLB champion. Same way we did the NBA.

Speaking of storied franchises I put this together to troll a Chicago Cubs fan friend.

Coincidentally, both the Yankees and Red Sox made the playoffs in 1995.

This team has already equaled going deeper into the playoffs that any Astros team (2005 ALCS champs). To me, this season is already a success for that alone. Win 1 game vs the Dodgers and we take the record for deepest playoff run). Sure I want to win this series. Absolutely. But the season cant be a failure at this point for me.

Best Astros team ever. They have the regular season performance of ‘98 with the playoff success of ‘05. Now let’s set the bar even higher.

Pretty sure the Astros would rather be 3-2 than 2-3 so I don't know why you say the Rays are failing.
