The Rays are just the better team. That’s fine, I liked them a year ago too. We had our chances, didn’t take advantage, don’t deserve to win. We could have won though, that’s what makes it so frustrating.
You think about every team the Astros have played since 2017 that has blocked their path to another WS title, they have the look of our championship team. Red Sox, Nats, now Rays, they all played like a team of destiny. They get all the breaks, make the key outs, the timely hits, jump on the mistakes. They can do no wrong. It is what it is. Can't be upset with four straight ALCS appearances, 2 WS stints and a title. And this series isn't over. 0-3 isn't 0-4. Flip the script. It can be done.
Assuming they put us out of our misery, I'm pulling for them to win it all. They've earned it. Plus they helped us in 2017 when the Rangers acted like total dicks after Harvey. Better than losing to the Yankees, thats for sure.
Yeah, I'm sure everyone would have preferred Stros v Dodgers for the narratives but at least the MLB doesn't have a bunch of shady and dubious calls to get to that result...so I can live with this easily and accept it wasn't meant to be this year.
