I am already tired of watching Kobe acting like Jordan.

Well get used to it. With these refs there probably will be a dynasty. All I want to see for once is for the Lakers to fairly win a game. I guess I won't get that.

Man foreal, did u see that bullsh** call on Dale Davis for the loose ball foul on Glen Rice? Man that call cost the Pacers the game. If it werent for that, then Pacers would have had the ball and down by 1. Why dont they have instant replay? At least "activate" instant replay in the 4th quarter... a call like that will screw everything up for a team.

If Lakers keep adding some talent, and as Kobe gets better, they will be a dynasty. You have to have a team like Portland with a good shooting center in order to beat them.

I am not convinced that this Laker team is a dynasty. They have no where near the killer instinct of the Bulls and blew many commanding series leads during this playoffs. Also, this may sound wierd, but I think Phil is overplaying Shaq and wonder if that will wear on his knees in the long term. I definitely dont think he'll be playing like Karl Malone is when he is in his mid 30s. This Laker team is very vulnerable as they showed many times during this playoffs. The problem is that the only team that had a good enough pestering team defense to beat them was Portland, and they completely melted down the stretch of Game 7. This team has a lot to prove imho before they can be labeled as a dynasty.

I think I may be the only Rockets fan who likes Kobe Bryant. I mean, I hate the Lakers, but I like Bryant. True, he has been over-hyped his entire career, and will probably continue that trend until he retires. But I find it hard to criticize a guy who seems like he genuinely loves the game of basketball, especially when he hasn't done anything totally offensive...yet.

No foul. I don't think the Lakers are a dynasty. They nearly blew it against Sacramento. Had Portland not choked the Lakers wouldn't have been there and how much different would the series have been if Reggie Miller hits that three to tie the series at 2-2. Would we talking about the Pacers as champions. Either the Pacers are a whole lot better than everybody thinks or the Lakers are not a budding dynasty.

I actually think Kobe has alot of game. I just can not stand the way he tries to act like Jordan. I can not stand another dynasty unless it is the Rockets

    To me,
To even use the term dynasty at this point is ridiculous. A dynasty is something you have at the end of a teams championsip years. You never know how a team will react to being at the top, especially with the Lakers "softness." I mean, by next year, even with a slightly changed Laker team, everyone will be gunning for them. On top of that, a lot of succesful strategies for combating the LAkers have been found. Even thought they won, they were tested and certainly will be tested again. They have to win at least 3 or 4 of the next 5 to seven to be a dynasty in my books. I mean the Rockets won two in a row...were they a dynasty?? Nope. Only dynasty was the old Celtics and the Bulls (and of course the Yankees in baseball)

Anyone wanna guess what century will we be in before we hear the end of this Lakers Championship? I think we will be hearing about this Lakers championship for at least another 10 years even if the Lakers go 0-82 next year. This was my worst nightmare, especialy living in the Bay Area (bandwagon central). At least Houston's fans aren't IDIOTS, that city is a joke.

The Lakers WILL be a dynasty. Shaq will become the GREATEST player of all time, no I'm not forgetting about Jordan. When you have the number one and two players in the league, as Chicago used to have, it means multiple championships. As much as I hate the Lakers, they will OWN this league for the next five years. They are only getting better. Phil Jackson is a mystical coaching genius and will be regarded as the greatest coach of all time. As for the Rockets, look for them to make a championship run in the second half of this decade.

Two things will determine if this will become a dynasty:

    1. Can Kobe & Shaq co-exist now? Will the ring change Kobe into thinking he could lead his own team to the title.

    2. Can the Lakers recruit veterans to take a pay cut to play for the ring. I'm sure they will pursue a PF in the offseason, they will need a SF to replace Rice (Pippen???), and possibly another PG to replace Harper in the next year or two. They don't need superstars or stars just veterans who can get their job done, make open jumpers, and play defense.

I think the veterans will be there, just because they are the Lakers. I would be more worried if I was a Laker fan about keeping Kobe happy as Shaq's sidekick.

When did Chicago have the best two players in the league? Jordan was one but the second name has me stumped.

I don't believe this team will be a dynasty. Just look at how they got through the play-offs and who were the their goto guys. Honestly look at all tere box scores and so forth Shaq is usually a 30 point a game player, Kobe gets his 18-22 points Glen Rice who was a 20+ a game player. Now he's around 12. Who else is there after that? I think that someone will beat them next year. Please be the Rockets!!

I think its stupid to annoint this team as anything other than the 2000 champs. Dynasty, don't think so. How soon we forget... this team would get routed by the Bulls in a seven game series. Have you guys already forgotten about MJs dominance? 6 titles? Greatest player of all time? Don't be so damn ignorant and fall for what the NBA and NBC are trying to sell you. I don't need another MJ because there will never be another like him. I'm happy with Carter, Hill, Francis, Garnett, Shaq, Iverson, you get the idea.

This team has no killer intinct. This team has a lot of aging veterans that can't be replaced by just anybody because of Phil's obsession with players who know the Holy Triangle. They have all of their talent in 2 players. While Shaq is the league's best, Kobe is not better than Carter or Hill, unless you believe the crap NBC keeps telling you. Damn, this makes me so freakin mad!!! Kobe is a damn good basketball player, but quit comparing him to Jordan. I'm not stupid enough to fall for the BS that Doug Collins keeps spitting out to earn his little bonus every time he compares Bryant to MJ. How can a 4th year player be on the same level as the greatest of all time?

Kobe loves all the hype though. Here is a quote from #8 after Shaq fouled out in OT of game 4. He says to Brian Shaw, "Jordan wouldn't let his team lose here, and I won't let mine lose." Shut the hell up biyatch!!

I like his game, but all the mannerisms that aren't his (flickering tongue, funky lip gestures, constant shrugs like Mike against Portalnd in 92 finals) have got to go. Be yourself. I despise the fact that the NBA had crowned LA champs back in December, followed through with it, and now will probably do their best to maintain them at the top as long as possible. This will not be good for basketball because then many of the great young players in the league will not recieve their just due because the league wants #8 to be its torch carrier.

Please God don't let this happen again. I thought I was finally free of MJs rule on the NBA, now they want to reincarnate him, so to speak.

Man I hope the Rockets can challenge in the west in the years to come and we can get our own dynasty.

Oh, so now Bryant's better than Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Alonzo Mourning, Gary Payton, Grant Hill, etc? LOL!

In THESE PLAYOFFS, Kobe Bryant has been the second best overall player. This is a tentative ranking, and could easily change next season, much like Tim Duncan's #1 ranking from the 1999 playoffs did this past season. You're only as good as your last perfomance.

I would have to say that the 1999/2000 Lakers can be called a dynasty. Just look at the Spurs dynasty from last year. Who will ever be able to forget that magical team. I think from now on we should have 4 dynasties a year. Two from each conference.

The Lakers have peaked. They will get no better. They will always be good, but unless Stern gives them some extra slary cap to work with, they will keep getting knocked out by the Rocks'. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE HEART OF A CHAMPION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
