"Ty Lue meeting with Rockets on Sunday"
"Ty Lue meeting with Rockets this week."
"Ty Lue meeting with Rockets next week."

They have focused entirely on former head coaches and top assistants. They have a mix of coaches with Finals appearances —Ty Lue and Jeff Van Gundy —up-and-coming assistants — Stephen Silas, Wes Unseld Jr. and David Vanterpool — and familiar faces — John Lucas, Kenny Atkinson and Van Gundy.

They could expand the pool of candidates, a person with knowledge of the process said. But he also said that those involved in the hunt have liked what they have heard so far.

The Rockets have sought, among other things, a coach that can embrace and perhaps enhance their philosophies; work in their collaborative style with the basketball operations staff; and most of all, click with their stars and veterans to push the Rockets beyond where they have gone since the championship era.

Lue and Van Gundy have yet to interview, but there already is a great deal to consider.

I don’t want Lue but after John Lucas became rumored, I’d be thrilled. The expectations for this hire are low.

I’ll let Danny express my views on Lue as a potential coach.

Hate to say it but this feels like the hire.

@cyberx mentioned it a ways back.

And with the clips possibly going a different direction we might be a match.

Every candidate was flown out. Ty Lue is just the only one with a big enough name for Berman’s sources to recognize. A hire wouldn’t surprise me except for the money. He checks most boxes in a hire for this team. Big name, won a championship, coached stars, players coach, and available. I’m not sure who gets the job but in the end we have no control and only John Lucas would be a clearly bad hire and even he could end up surprising. I didn’t want MDA and it worked out pretty well.

If Mike Brown goes to Clippers that makes Ty Lue to Rockets all that more likely. Maybe Ty Lue doesn’t wanna develop the kids in New Orleans

The guy must be tired, probably been hiding out for weeks at the airport to get a glimpse of Lue.

I don't want anyone who thinks Houston is a secondary option. It is Bullsh*t! We have a player that is easily the best offensive weapon of this generation. If that isn't incentive enough then he can go find a job on espn

He’s going to inherit a terrible roster with a shaky owner and a GM with questionable roster moves. I don’t blame anyone for second guessing this team.
