Great Post, trade him!!!! Trade him with MoT to LAC for Elton Brand + a first round pick. Yao can get his points, the Clippers can lose their games as usual. The Clippers remain the worst team in the NBA, and the Rockets fans would never regret the trade. Yao haters don't have to watch him on TV anymore; and YOFs can never be happier to praise Yao and trash the rest of team... Everyone's Happy!
amed, Your logic seems to be a little uncommon. How do you justify Okafor is better than Yao? Not to minimize Okafor's potential or anything but how do you justify trading Yao for Okafor? Yao is young and just learning how to play the game. It's a process man. How long does it take Jordan to win one? And he didn't just do it by himself either! So, let Yao have fun. After all you wouldn't like to do things that's without fun right?
It's obvious patlabor1 wants Yao to be in his team. Stop insult other Rox fans' intelligence, there's not a single reason patlabor1 listed that has any logic or merit. Patlabor1, forget about this getting Yao deal, it ain't never going to happen. I don't know why you even bring this up, it's pointless to argue trading Yao since it's not going to happen. Probably you just crave attention or love a good bashing on this board. Stop dreaming, Patlabor1.
Hmm...Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA tournament...he's gotta be a lock for stardom in the NBA. Here's the NCAA Most Outstanding Players since '85. 2004 - Emeka Okafor, Connecticut 2003 - Carmelo Anthony, Syracuse 2002 - Juan Dixon, Maryland 2001 - Shane Battier, Duke 2000 - Mateen Cleaves, Michigan St 1999 - Richard Hamilton, Connecticut 1998 - Jeff Sheppard, Kentucky 1997 - Miles Simon, Arizona 1996 - Tony Delk, Kentucky 1995 - Ed O'Bannon, UCLA 1994 - Corliss Williamson, Arkansas 1993 - Donald Williams, North Carolina 1992 - Bobby Hurley, Duke 1991 - Christian Laettner, Duke 1990 - Anderson Hunt, Nev Las Vegas 1989 - Glen Rice, Michigan 1988 - Danny Manning, Kansas 1987 - Keith Smart, Indiana 1986 - Pervis Ellison, Louisville 1985 - Ed Pinckney, Villanova
OMG, so many NCAA players turned out to be ASs , amed, u r right, let's trade Yao now before it is too late
The fact that you don't know what a 'team' is says volumes. And wow, what a long post saying absolutely nothing. A 'team' means the Houston Rockets as a whole. I'd like to see them win a championship, or just win in general. The main point is you're hiding what you want for Yao under the cover of 'what's good for Houston'. And when someone points this out, what is your response? That's the point. And it pretty much nullifies any further empty attempts at justification on your part.
I thought you were a Rox fan. Any half decent Rox fan knows that Yao won the paper ballots done in the arenas and that Shaq won the Internet voting. Stop it with the ignorant shiet, you sound like those losers at slamonline.com.
Here is your all 1984-2004 NCAA Most Ourstanding Player team: PG Mateen Cleaves SG Anderson Hunt SF Miles Simon PF Ed O'Bannon C Pervis Ellison Yeah they stepped out big time.
Well, all I can tell is the guy is a day-trader. He sees some profit and just want to rush for the small gain he can see right now. Even just considering value, who is helping les make the most bucks right now? Can Okafor/Chandeller help on that???? I doubt it. There are some stock you have to buy and hold, even when it is in a short slump, dude, think before you write.
Here are your 7'5 Centers that were in the league: 1) Rick Smiths 2) Shawn Bradley 3) George Muresan Just cause you have size doesn't make you a dominant Center. You need more than size and Yao doesn't have it.
I agree that it takes time to adjust to the NBA game and escpecially for Yao since he is coming over to a whole new language, culutre, etc... but even a rookie Jordan showed heart and effort in the most important games of the season. Yao just dissapeared completley in the games that mean the most and that has nothing to do with learning or with adjusting. He has done nothing and if it weren't for steve they would not be in the playoffs. Look at Carmelo Anthony, he put the Nuggets on his back and carried them into hte playoffs by hitting big shot after big shot. Yao needs to show something and he has to shed the soft image that follows him.
What are you talking about? I didn't say having size alone can make a dominant center. Please quote it if you think I did. With that all NCAA outstanding player team I was trying to make a point that it is moronic to say a player will turn out to be a great pick because of good performance in the final four.
You probably don't know how big the culture difference is between Chinese and American. 2 years is really not enough to overcome the difference. Comparing Yao with Anthony/Jordan is not fair to him because those guys never have to adjust. Yao will shed the soft image evetunally, give him some time.
