I mean there are so many "journalists" who flat out suggest and imply the Astros cheated throughout 2019 regular season and playoffs too. They know the Astros are easy target right now, and they just try to fit everything into that frame. Plus it doesn't help with other teams players' "holier than thou" attitudes who don't admit that lots of teams were breaking the rules, but just didn't have snitch.
I should not have clicked the link. I'm beginning to think us Astros fans the one who give all these writers their clicks rather than other fans. But it's obvious this guy is baiting and misrepresenting or just flat out doesn't do research because of things like: By which he confusing the Astros scandal with the Yankees one that actually was buried and under a legal battle. And he implying that the Astros must be cheating again to be hitting to so well.
People really hate the astros with all their Heart. Hadn’t looked at mlb social media in months and it’s still the same “trash can” and “doesn’t matter they cheated” in 99% of the comments Psychopaths
That's what losers do. Easier to blame others for your own shortcomings. Over the past 4 years, Astros are simply the best team, with or without cheating and whether these losers recognize it or not, it doesn't change a thing. Look at where last year's champ is, couldn't even make to the post season this year. Makes you wonder if maybe they were not cheating huh? What about the RedSox after their title with Cora, basement dwellers now...
No surprise to me that they are speculating that we're cheating again. Even though we're playing at not just a neutral site the but the stadium of a team who's organization hates us and prior to that won two games at Target Field. I'll say again, we never had the love of most of MLB. At most we were a feel good story after Harvey and then we were the team standing in the way of the Yankees returning to their rightful place in the WS and the goliath that David (the Nats) slew. As much as people hated the Patriots and we here on Clutchfans hated the cocky Warriors and their fans, that's who we are now so might as well enjoy it.
The Astros misfortune is a time to cash in for many of these "journalists". They will milk this dry with podcasts, tweets, books, etc until they get every last drop and cent. Unfortunately for Astros fans this will not go away any time soon. There's a strong enough Astros contingent on twitter that makes if fun. I stay away from reddit though.
The way this team was constructed they never needed to cheat. That’s what pisses me off the most, and look what’s happening now. Go Astros!
Don't look now but there are a lot of people going for the Astros for the narrative. Even Jomboy said it would amuse him if it were to happen and I'm sure it'd bring him a lot of content. But I do see a lot of commenting about how funny it would be for them to win, the chaos it would bring, the narrative. I mean really, I'm sure the MLB is hoping for the Stros to matchup against the Dodgers as much as he's hoping for the Yankees to do so. Not saying its fixed or anything, just that how many people are rooting for a Rays/Braves WS this year? Also, side note here, Manfred in his report did say he believed the cheating didn't help the Astros that much and the Astros winning the WS actually vindicates him.
For fans of HBO's Succession this is a pretty funny Ringer piece: https://www.theringer.com/mlb/2020/...cession-jose-altuve-carlos-correa-kendall-roy Which Houston Astros Players Are Which Detestable ‘Succession’ Characters?
What's ironic about all of this is that Stros success might actually be good for the MLB's bottomline. With the empty stadiums and the NFL and NBA under scrutiny because of kneeling having a sports story that is controversial but not political might be just the thing to get interests. Following the model of the WWE, people will cheer for heroes but they will come to see a good villian and the Stros fit the bill. With the Stros full of swagger led on by Correa's brash attitude the Stros in the WS playing the Dodgers again could be just the draw that the MLB needs to get a lot of people watching.
Journalists and networks love these hater articles. So the Houston Astros are headed to another ALCS. How angry should you be? https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/30064947/so-houston-astros-headed-another-alcs-how-angry-be
