If the Yankees lose their series to Tampa Bay, then I'm really happy regardless of what happens next.
I could be down to see Bauer go to NYY only to underperform his contract and get booed into oblivion, or LAA where he will exist forever on 75 win teams.
Disagree If Javier had picthed today like he normally does the series is most likely over. Now we can hope to get 5 innings out of Javier and hope we dont get the same thing we saw today.
Lord, Tyler is such an obnoxious, self-centered, arrogant douche-bag. He’s quickly making enemies of just about everyone in the league.
Have you ever pitched? Because different players need more rest. Imagine the feeling of a dead arm that can't fully extend properly. I understand the questioning of Baker's decisions but I think I'd trust them for now. This is different then Cole situation. I still hate that move
I can't get a job interview but Josh James gets a shot at 2 innings of work? What a bunch of bullshit.
Ha I unfortunately feel you. I was surprised to see him going for a second inning. Let's just go crush them tomorrow.
I’m pretty sure you could get an mlb tryout if you threw 98 and @raining threes if Javier DIDNT pitch well today then we’d be in danger of having who start tomorrow ? granted if Grienke is OK to go g4 then I agree with you , but if he’s out for a bit longer then we needed to hold Javier back to throw tomorrow . could Javier have helped us win today ? Let’s say >50 percent chance ... but if Oak managed to win g3 then what are our chances in game 4 with Javier spent ? We had to err on the side of caution because otherwise I think we put too much pressure on ourselves and could have this series turn on us quickly
I understand the reasoning your and others have presented - it's fair. I still don't like it. I felt similarly in game 6 of the 2004 NLCS when they didn't throw the kitchen sink into winning that game with the late lead. I really thought the Astros had the bats to win it all that year, moreso than the 2005 team that was mostly pitching. Edit: memory relapse - I guess it was a late tie, not lead. I think many (including myself) were wanting to throw Roger or Roy or whoever back in there in extra innings instead of going to Dan Micilli. Like go for broke in game 6 because the chance to win was there. It's not the exact same situation as present day because you have 2 more bites at the apple, but man it would sure suck if the Astros lose the series...Dusty would be regretting his James love for the rest of his years.
