Wanted to get some expert opinions on this. Since the game means nothing to us, who will our starting five be? Personally i would like to see the same starting five we had against Seatle, just to see what they can do against Dallas. Unfortunatly i think that Dallas will also have the scrubs in since the game means nothing to them as well.
I think Dallas is still playing for a 5 seed, but I dont know if they would want that because I think they'd be looking at the Lakers in the first round. Who knows what Dallas will come out with. We already clinched the 7th seed so the only thing that this game could mean is momentum going into the playoffs. I think all of the starters will play, but sparingly. He might sit out Jim Jackson..the guy played 47 minutes last night. I'd only play Yao about 12-15 mins. Francis Mobley Nachbar Padgett Yao (Cato will play the majority of the minutes at C tomorrow night)
ABF Anyone but Francis, that Bin Laden loving, baby killing, old people slapping, driving slow in the fast lane, poor ass excuse for a basketball player. I hope he rots in hell. Hey, the Hangout Boy figured out how to post in the GARM!
Naw............a pretty funny joke about all the Steve bashing. Actually, i'm just waiting for another "what's the point of this thread" post by the 800 members of the "what's the point of this thread/ hasn't this been said 10 times/ shouldn't this belong in the game forum" club.
JVG didnt even know y Steve and Cat were out of the lineup.....he wuz just like whatever Keith and the players decide......
Dallas and Memphis play tonight to lock up the 5 seed, tomorrows game will be comletely meaningless on all fronts. DD
He should definitely not play Yao. Yao needs to rest the most out of anybody. I have tix for that game, hopefully it will be interesting at least. Peace.
steve and cat need to get warmed up for the playoffs. cato needs to shake up some rust from being injured. pike needs to get his shot back. yao and jj need to rest. i would like to see the minutes played look like his: yao:12 - mo:30 cato 30: - spoon:12 - SP:12 jj:12 - boki:24 cat:36 - pike: 24 steve:36 - jax:12
JVG has stated that he does not "rest" players. That said, he will have his usual starters out there - he wants them to stay sharp. However, he will probably keep their minutes down to much less than usual - there's no need to risk injury, or overwork them, and it will help the bench players to get some playing time. Before the playoffs. -- droxford
I would play the starters 20-30 minutes. I don't want them to have too much time off before the playoffs start, but there is no need to play anybody 40 mins in a meaningless game.
in the houstron chronicle jvg says he dosent have a goal of resting starters. What is he thinking. Starters sit out Coach Jeff Van Gundy had not changed his position. He still did not consider resting players a worthwhile goal in late-season games. But guards Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley were scratched from Monday's game in Seattle, the first this season either has missed because of injury. starters will start but expect only 20-25 minutes...with the playoffs starting either saturday if against Sac town and Sunday if LA, that will give our starters 2-3 days of rest...at this point you cannot get caught up on hardcore rest, only healing some bumps and bruises and stretching out some muscles....
