We probably actually agree on a lot of this, and I know you have no intent of punishing anyone. I would just say the changes need to be more gradual b/c people make huge financial and life decisions based on tax laws they assume won't lurch too quickly. (And maybe that is their/my huge mistake to own.) Cheers.
