Only take shots inside the paint, layups or post ups.

The difference is, its proven you can win without posting up, you cannot win in this league without shooting a decent amount of threes.

would love to see it, but the opponent would pack the paint so those shots would be a lot harder to make...gotta make some 3s to make the system work

Old man ball does not work it today's game. Jeff Van Gundy would not run the same offense and as like 10+ years ago.

Funny enough Rockets were 2nd (to our beloved MDA) in made 3's per game in JVG's last season with us.

Rafer and LUTHA was lighting it up.

The only reason the rockets won't be shooting threes is because they're shooting fours instead.

What if we had an offense where everyone shot a ton of threes...and we actually HAD players that were GOOD at shooting them?

That really is the bit I never understood. If the whole point of the offense is shooting threes, why not focus on getting high percentage three point shooters over anything else?

It's something many of us have never understood. Whether it should be the focus "over anything else" might be arguable, but one thing can't be disputed, in my opinion. It is that we have been woefully bereft of elite 3 point shooters, yet our offense is literally built around shooting threes at a very high volume. It does not compute.

Well we already have an offense where nobody makes 3's so it wouldn't be that much different.

Lakers could actually field a lineup that does this.

    Rondo / LeBron / Davis / McGee / Howard.

Just have Rondo be the facilitator while everyone else can either penetrate inside (LeBron, AD) or catch lobs / throw it up in the paint (McGee, Howard, AD).

We need players to fit our system, or a system to fit our players.. whichever it is, i hope it happens.
