Who prosecutes this? Bill freakin Barr?? Good luck with that. Texas Republicans are the absolute worse. They have no idea they live in a purple state and think they can get away with murder cause its Texas.
Rural Texas is a motherf...... As much as I would like to think we're a purple state, we're really not close yet.
I don’t think he survives this. I don’t know that it will matter much as another Republican will replace him.
Demographically we are basically California. The state easily should be a battleground state if not for the voter manipulation that the GOP has systemically put in place since LBJ. Houston is large and diverse itself to make any state blue if it was anywhere else.
I didn't see that you'd already posted this. Spotted Carl's thread heading, looked into it, commented, and moved on. Argh! Still, great news. Paxton is corrupt and it's way past time that he went down. It's not like it's been a secret around the capital. The state GOP just tried to keep a lid on it, hoping it would go away, apparently. Some brave staff members stepped up and they are outstanding people. If only Paxton and Abbott (and Patrick) were up for reelection this November, but not until 2022. Terrible luck. Paxton is one of the chumps most responsible for voter suppression here in Texas and scenes like that below (I think that was taken after the polls closed, with those in line still able to vote if they don't leave - madness). I hope he ends up with years behind bars. He certainly deserves it. We'll see. People wait in line to vote Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Texas Southern University in Houston. Even the statewide offices chosen by popular vote are not close. There's a lot of Hispanic republicans.
Maybe true, but there's a lot more Hispanic people who do not vote at all. Hell, they're scared by the Census. Fix the horribly gerrymandered voting districts and see how things change, it'll take time though.
The house seats are definitely Gerrymandered nonsense but the senate seats and governorship there's no excuse for. You're right that many Hispanics may fear voting but even before the current political climate we typically didn't participate and we don't vote as solidly blue as black people when we do. It's like 60-40 to 70-30 or somewhere in that vicinity. I think that's changing some as we're being targeted but there's still more political apathy than I'm comfortable with.
Yeah I don't get the likes of Abbott or Cruz getting in. I guess Texans strong by electing weak fools in who destroy their schools, air and water.
Ted Cruz running as “Texas Tough” was the biggest joke ever. He’s Canadian Weak and has a limp handshake.
The sissy left on the board would LARP up and ride if the president insulted their pretend wives. Thank you very much!
