I read that VF article many years ago. Given that he's known for not reading, his wife was divorced from him at the time, and he did acknowledge that he was given those books.... some of that is at least true but I'm not sure he actually read them. Still, it's in the back of my mind that he might know exactly what he's doing. I come back again to Mary Trump's (a trained clinical psychologist that witness the dynamic of their dysfunctional family) book. In that book, she describes - Fred Trump (his father) as a "high-functioning sociopath" and went into details on his racism, sexism, bullying, antisemitism, xenopobia - yes, the traits you see today in his son - A dysfunctional family. He was deprived of love, being valued, feeling safe. It explains him as who he is today. He craves for that deficit he missed out in his childhood, he watches and learn from his sociopathic father and he manage his own way out of that dysfunctional family to become a very broken man. I don't think he knows other people pain and suffering. Everything he does is around that craving - his ego needs so much love and attention. He should have never become president - the nation is becoming a dysfunctional "family" and what he has done is going to have some lasting effects.
I know the good guys on both sides quote gets a lot of publicity but it is just false when you acknowledge the context. Even at the debate, if you read the transcript of what he says, it isn't what the media reported. I still can't believe there was a debate after hearing so many cult members around me talk for the last couple of months about Biden refusing to do any debates and this was going to be the first election with no presidential debates. They were all extremely shocked, appalled by Biden refusing to do them. Now none of them remember ever saying it.
