He probably got a decimal point wrong on the free embezzlement software he downloaded off hacknsteal.com.

Trump's doing a great job draining the swamp. Too bad he's yet to get outside of his inner circle in doing it.

This reminds me of that scene from Casino where the bosses find out their skimming the skim and they just can’t comprehend it.

“THE FAMILY IS WORRIED BRAD WILL START TALKING”: TRUMPWORLD PANICS OVER DEBATE FIASCO AS CAMPAIGN TURMOIL MOUNTS
Over three days, the New York Times dropped a tax bombshell, Florida cops cuffed Brad Parscale, and the president just couldn’t help himself onstage. “Trump didn’t win over any voters,” said a prominent Republican, “and he pissed off a lot of people.”

Why would they be worried about someone talking? I mean, if they are on the up and up they have nothing to worry about.

The "up to" language is pretty suspicious. I wouldn't be surprised if Parscale was skimming off the campaign. I also wouldn't be surprised if all the money he got was from legal (though probably not arms-length and ethical) transactions with the campaign and Trump is just pissed that he got out-maneuvered and is couching it as corruption to avenge himself. I do feel pretty confident that Parscale hasn't done anything that Trump wouldn't have been willing to do himself.

I agree, I think this is just a face saving measure by a campaign that is now broke and is uncovering just how much money was lost to mismanagement and internal corruption. Off the top of my head, I'd guess Parscale did one or more of the following:

    1. Parscale is a digital media guy and its standard practice for agencies to collect a percentage of total advertising revenue spent. Parscale (as campaign manager) probably signed a contract with himself (or some LLC that he owns) to buy media for the Trump campaign and then collect a percentage of total media spending. Given the volume of media that the Trump campaign spent, he probably got millions this way. And given that Parscale probably wrote and signed his own contract, I bet he gave himself a very generous percentage of the total ad spending.

    2. We know for a fact that Parscale used his own social media accounts for Trump advertising as a way to increase his own follower count so that he could profit off his accounts after the campaign. There was also a lot of money put into advertising Parscale accounts instead of Trump accounts which again only benefited Parscale. But since the Trump campaign probably signed a contract to let Parscale spend their money freely on advertising, I'm not sure what they can do about this.

    3. Parscale probably funneled some "consulting fees" to one or more companies that he owned for some additional revenue. He also mightve had financial interests in other vendors like direct mail, merchandise, etc.. and I'm sure he paid overinflated prices to those vendors.

I think Parscale's power as campaign manager resulted in a lot of contracts that were overinflated and he probably directly profited from most of them. I can't say I'm surprised by any of this. No standard Republican strategist would consider working for the Trump campaign so he ended up hiring a bunch of charlatans instead.

my take is that Parscale was the convenient fall guy / scapegoat

this looks like a replay of the controversy surrounding the Trump 2017 Inaugural committee; it couldn't account for ~ $40 M of the $107 M raised. the event planner / coordinator was picked as the convenient scapegoat.
