Think the Sox are the better team given the power and a touch of speed, but with the injuries, I don't mind the matchup. We just have to keep folks off the basepaths when they hit their homers.

Looked up the A's playoff history and they haven't won a playoff series since 2006...where they swept Minnesota in the Division round. Before that, it was 1990 when they won the ALCS before losing to the Reds in the World Series.

Interestingly enough, the last time the Twins won a playoff series was against the A's in 2002...the time before that was when they won the World Series in 1991.

Last time the White Sox won a playoff Series was...well...we won't talk about that one.

All these pitching changes...this game has already seen SEVEN combined pitchers from both teams

So the Astros would have "home field advantage" over the white sox since they are a 7th seed? Meaning they bat 2nd in games 1, 2, and 5. Wonder if they'll let the teams bring in their own sound boards?

That’s why, even in this abortion of a season/post-season, nobody should take anything for granted.

God knows they would have been celebrating with pitchforks had the Astros lost. Now that they won, all the excuses of it not being a real season are being expressed by many.

Didn’t realize they’d end up going by “seeding”... thought they’d just go by record.

Ah well... plenty of game left. Oakland finally showing a pulse.

Hates going to hate. I think all the injuries and the lost of Cole counter that argument. Although we did play mostly our division out of those 60 games.

Seeds 1-3: Division winners in order of best winning percentage.
Seeds 2-6: 2nd place teams in each division in order of best winning percentage.
Seeds 7 & 8: Next two teams with best winning percentage.

Astros were 3rd best record of the division 2nd place teams, and as such are the 6th seed even though the two third place teams have better records. They did this due to the uneven schedule.

Central division teams have looked weak in comparison to the West and East teams.
