In all fairness.. there is no actual 'successful' Dantoni team, he has always lost I mean, that's not being too critical when you consider that MOST always lose. I'm just saying, there is no "successful" Dantoni team so who knows what a "successful" Dantoni team is built like until it's actually done
No offense, but... that's a terrible analogy. The only thing those players have in common are their positions. Paul plays nothing like Nash, nor does Embiid play anything like Stoudemire. That could actually be a good combo, but it wouldn't be very MDA-esque, and would be a very slow paced, methodical core.
Add Shake. I'm telling you. Add Shake. Obviously I'd prefer Thybulle but his value is clear. Richardson is not as good as Eric Gordon and his contract sets him up to walk in a year. Richardson is a worse defender than Eric and is still kind of an awkward fit. None the less, I still like swapping them but we'd need more. Josh is a bit younger compared to Eric but he isn't taking the player option next year so it's not like we are getting a 27 year old for the next 3 years at a cost controlled rate. Tilman probably loves that, less money on the books. On the other hand Shake could replace Eric and Austin Rivers in one fell swoop. His girth isn't even close to Eric but his length is comparable and his ability to run the offense at his size is something we desperately need. He's a PG in a SF's body. He's a perfect player for position-less basketball. He's 24 and under team control for three more seasons at essentially the minimum.
Embiid, Simmons, Thybulle and Richardson + any pick they can muster up for Harden, Russ and PJ. That's an interesting but wild scenario. Probably takes us down a notch from being "contenders" but it definitely extends the window. That 76ers team would definitely win quickly. Russ Harden Harris PJ Horford or even better CP3 to Philly for Russ to return. Dios Mio that should have been our core. Our team would become Simmons Gordon Thybulle / Richardson RoCo Embiid That's pretty damn good too. Honestly looking at the rosters. the 76ers should be trying to swap Harris + picks (or the young goat Matisse) for RoCo + Gordon + salary filler. https://tradenba.com/trades/TZsmxV7Ct Russ Harden Thybulle Harris PJ or swap Horford for Harris and swap RoCo for PJ. https://tradenba.com/trades/oQTIKkcbs Russ Harden Thybulle RoCo Horford That's a very competitive team. 76ers also get better. seems to be more of a MDA team than as constructed. PJ and Eric were MDA's favorite players after Harden. Thybulle is the kind of player we need going forward with youth needed. Horford fits a need but that contract is ROUGH. Simmons Gordon Richardson / House Harris / PJ Embiid
Better than two years of second-round-fodder and three years of bottom dwelling while OKC drinks our milkshake. A move has to be made. I don't know what it is but it needs to be done. I think Russ and Harden will be here so that top trade means nothing. The bottom trade is something to reshuffle the deck. Having Thybulle as a future asset means that we have will have a top tier defender until OKC has drained our draft picks fully. Having an elite level defender does two things. #1. we have a ****ing elite level defender under team control #2 every team would line up to trade for said elite ****ing talent if the team goes to ****.
That is a tough one. When Gordon is healthy he is a better player but can we ever count on him being healthy? I would likely try to get them to either throw in Scott or Zhaire Smith.
Gordon, Covington and PJ for Embiid. Deal include LTS for Tilman. MDA gets three shooters / defenders and can play Horford at the 5.
Because every team begins the season with the exact same opportunity to win the championship How is that not fair? This isn't little league where everyone gets a trophy.. It's a combination of having successful players and a successful coach and Mike Dantoni having multiple MVP's(pre and post his coaching) on his various teams means many of his teams must have been lacking that successful coach aspect.
