Just like ny had to take penny to get Steph, is it worth it getting Mcgrady if the Rockets had to take Grant Hill? Think about the package that it would take along with future detractions.

Of course,Francis would have to be involved because Orlando would want star power, after that to make up G.Hill money and the size problems, we're looking at Cat and Cato probably. Even after a playoff run, would it be worth trading 3/5 of the starting lineup for Mcgrady,Hill, and maybe Lue and Hunter?Hill is signed until 07 like cato, but makes max money. Think about.

The last thing the Rockets want to do is clog up our salary cap for the next 4 years with Hill, the guy will never be healthy enough again, Lue is a cheaper Moochie, and thats a bad thing.

As great as a T-Mac/Yao duo would be. We'd be basically trading 3 of 5 starters for him. Also, Orlando will probably be spending all the offseason to make T-Mac stay next year, you don't let a superstar walk just for one bad season.

I don't know if I could answer that question, but I do not think that Grant Hill will be on any teams payroll for the next four years. Grant is a stand up guy and one hell of a competitor. He is only trying to come back because he still thinks he can. I would bet that if his comeback ends in the same results next year, that Grant will retire. He has made his money and just wasn't happy with the finish.

My God, his injury resulted when he was trying to prove his naysayers wrong and play through injury. Can you blame the guy for again trying to prove his naysayers wrong again and make an improbable comback.

If we could get Gooden as well, I'd probably consider it. Giving up Cat and Cato along with Steve is a lot. It'd also create the necessity of signing a starting PG

    But a lineup of:

    Yao/Hunter
    Gooden/Taylor
    Jackson/Nachbar/(Hill)
    McGrady/Pike
    (Barry?)/Lue

    That has some serious potential.

gucci- Lue is a very solid backup. He's a tough defender, has a career 3P% of 39%, and a career AST/TO of over 2.6. That's not Moochie-like at all.

I agree with the above about retirement.

That said I wish Grant Hill could even come back and contribute at the level Penny is doing.

Well, you guys complain SF takes too many shots, has lower assists, low FG%, etc etc. Then you want T-Mac?

Do not get me wrong. T-Mac is a better player than Francis, but he is not going to be the second-foddler to Yao. Yao has to become the "Francis" of this season in order to accomdate T-Mac's playing style.

Yao plus T-Mac and a good PG is a winning formula.

I will take Hill's contract to get McGrady for Francis/Mobley and Cato. McGrady and Yao are a dynamite combo much like Shaq/Kobe. Use the MLE to add players until Hill comes off the books and then start to build your team around those two superstars.

Yao has to become the "Francis" of this season in order to make the whole thing work. T-Mac did not want to be the second foddler to his own cousin (VC). What make you guys think he wants to be that to Yao Ming?

Couldn't agree more. People said Kobe has big ego, wait till you see T-Mac. Don't get me wrong, T-Mac is a great talent and an all-star, but he has to be the #1 guy. IMHO, Yao will not flurish playing 2nd fiddle to McGreedy.

I also don't think Orlando would trade T-Mac + Hill unless they get at least Francis, Cat, & Cato. IMHO, that's not a great deal for us.

Being a "second foddler," especially to his own cousin, makes me a little nervous about having him on the Rockets. :( ;)

Grant Hill is not an idiot, he is class person. He is intelligent, hard-working, and an excellent role model. I am very sad about his injury, because he was on a track to become a truly great player.

You ought to look up his numbers, they are very similar to player you constantly criticize.

    In a New York second.

Why would Orlando do this again? They'd get the Steve and Cuttino show, plus Gooden and Howard. Yawn. No contender there. They'd need some kind of sexy draft pick or something to make it attractive.

paso- Well, they'll have one of the top picks in the draft as well.

pgab-Grant Hill is yet to shoot below 45% in a season in which he plays 15+ games. Hell, he even averaged over 7 assists in one season.

Their numbers are similar. Grant has a better overall fg%, Steve has a lot better 3pfg% than Grant.
