I'm leaning towards predicting that the Spurs will win it all again, and this guy is one of the biggest reasons why. Manu is a freaking stud. He makes big perimeter shots. Makes those long strides to the basket, then converts these shots, in which some of them are difficult. The bottom line is that he makes a lot of shots he attempts. The guys is everything a role player should be.

Plus, the guy can throw it down. I mean, he is a pretty damn nice dunker if you think about it. He always throws a couple down in opponents mugs.

That dunk he had in Game 1 vs the Lakers last year was unbelievable. There is no role player better than him right now, and he has been the best role player since Scottie Pippen's Bulls championship days

I'm a fan of his game. I could see the Spurs winning it all again this year too. Man I wish the Rockets could trade Francis for Ginobili and Turkoglu, but I don't think Francis would even land the Rockets Ginobili.

He is doing an awesome job. He is a very intelligent player who almost always makes right decisions and his confidence is very high in big games. He makes his team better everytime he steps on the court.

reaaally... he's good but not THAT good. some people are infatuated with his style. remember when he started? but then he stunk it up so bad pop benched him for turkoglu? sure he's turning it around now... but i'd like to see another season before he can be judged a consistently good player. plus... volume shooter... i don't like that.

Pop didn't bench him. He got injured and Turk moved into the starting lineup. Turk was playing much better as a starter then coming off the bench so Manu agreed to come off the bench to be the spark. The chemistry was good then so they didn't want to mess him up. I have him on my fantasy so I see his stats every night. He is a it inconsistent and doesn't always fill up the stat sheet but that boy hustles. He's not a superstar yet and I don't think he will be but he'd be a good second piece of the puzzle.

He is an unrestricted Free Agent, I am not sure the Spurs have the cap room to match other teams offers.

I hope the Rocks can get in the mix for him.

I hate the spurs. Bowen -- dirty. Parker -- too cocky. Hedo -- too ugly. Nesterovic -- too soft. Duncan -- too good.

I don't really want to pick any of them up. But Ginobli can be had in the 6 Million range though... then why not? Bonzi Wells gets paid that, more maybe.

are you kidding me? do you follow the NBA outside the Rockets? The only thing the Spurs DO have is cap room. And lots of it.

He was a 2nd-round pick. I think the Spurs let him mature overseas for a couple of years and then brought him over. Shows the value of those 2nd-round picks. Manu was a great long-term investment.

But how does that work? I know we had to hold onto the Cat because of his 2nd-round status, hoping he'd take less money to stay with the Rockets. He came to play right away. Manu is about 26, and was drafted in, oh, 2000 or so?

So, is Manu restricted or unrestricted?

And does it matter, given the fact that (maybe) only the signing of Kobe would prevent them from re-signing Manu (unless Manu absolutely insists on starting from now on, which he has earned).

Manu is an unrestricted FA and the Spurs do NOT have his Bird Rights since he is a 2nd round pick and was signed to a standard 2 year deal. The Spurs will be UNDER the cap in the offseason so they wont have the MLE. The Spurs however are supposed to be MORE under the cap than the MLE so teams wishing to get Manu with the MLE wont be able to get him unless he decides to choose those teams for less money.

The Spurs can shuck Horry, Turkgolu and Mercer off the cap and I believe have around 7 or so million to spend on Manu and chances are he will stay in SA.

The only way I see Manu leaving is if a team like Utah offering something like 9 million and try to overpay to get him.

That is my point, the Spurs can not offer more than anyone else, so the Rocks could in theory make a run at him.
