As we all know now, small ball was a huge failure for the rockets. Pj at center just does not cut it. The rockets should target Christian Wood, but first I will give morey credit because last year he tried to trade for him but for some reason the trade fell through. Given his play of this past season Christian wood has continue to evolve and has become a monster. Per 36 minutes, he has averaged 22 points and 10.6 rebounds. He has an impressive PER of 23.22 and his defense has been particularly good, it is even slightly better than anthony davis, with a dfg of 44.1. He is a tall body with long arms, standing at "6-10 that can play both the power forward and center position. He can pick and roll, catch lobs and has even developed a 3-point shot. But also has the height and length to be disruptive on the defense, he can alter shots at the rim and makes it difficult for opposing players to score inside, he has become a defensive stopper. He would be the ideal piece for Harden and Russ.Hes not as good as Anthony Davis, not many are, but in my eyes, he is on the cusp of becoming a star player. Let be honest we only have like 2 to 3-year window to win a chip; it is time to make a move and bring this kid in. Make it happen Morey. He is the piece that we need.
I see him mentioned a lot, but why would the Pistons, who will have significant cap space, let him go?
Maybe Maybe a sign and trade with Detroit, some way we have to dump Eg and maybe house, either we trade them for picks and cap then directly sign wood,or just a sign and trade straight up. If someway way we can have Harden,Russ,Covington and Wood, that would be a dangerous team on both offense and defense.
“It’s been known...” haha. NO IT HASN’T That’s just an assumption someone would make based on the Pistons being the Pistons to try to make a point. What is known is that this dude has made less than $5 million total in the last 5 years. And has been on 5 different teams. So the safer statement to make is “it’s been known that he’s looking to get paid”.
Well he did tweet "I want to win" a couple of months back. Pistons could easily do an S+T or trade him at the deadline next season. Whatever happens, he's not gonna be in Detroit for even half of that contract if he does sign, I'd bet that.
I want to win” does not mean it’s been known he wants out of Detroit. These guys are young and don’t get many opportunities to get paid. He wants to get paid, and that’ll most likely (not definitely) be Detroit. Doesn’t matter how long he stays there. My point was people are making things up to make him a realistic option on this board.
Haha. You know the saying Speak it into existence? I’m calling out someone trying to post it into existence by exaggerating what is “known” about what CW is thinking. Yes he wants to get paid and will get paid. Yes he can be signed and traded. Yes Detroit sucks. Yes he would be a great fit for us. But No he has not said he won’t play for Detroit. No he has not said he insists on playing in Houston. No Detroit has not shown an inclination to let him go. And most importantly No Detroit does not have to execute a trade to please us.
