this is a great point, yet still not enough to deny the overwhelming evidence that it's rigged to some extent and probably towards a variety of different purposes shifting in time and space
Well, Knicks suck, first and foremost. But the Cavs team had LeBron, and the Oakland team had Curry/Thompson and then Durant. All very marketable stars. The last time Detroit was relevant was 15 or so years ago. So, really, San Antonio is the only true outlier, since the won it recently with no real "star" power, even though the big 3 and Kawhi were really good.
Because they never cleaned shop after the Donaghy thing. There should have been a serious investigation into all of their officials, what we learned then was that it is possible for Refs to fix games. They never shut that pandora box and fans did not and do not believe that he was a lone wolf. Some of the refs are so bad that it makes some of us wonder what they are seeing or how they are being motivated.
The role players of Miami have been outstanding. That 4 point play by crowder and fade away bank 3 by Olynyk must have really shaken the Celtics... man if those shots landed against the Rockets I would have been fuming. So great Edit: Also, Pat Riley really is the godfather of the NBA
I’m surprised how much I’m enjoying these games. I guess I’m rooting for the Heat. Didn’t think the Heat were going to be this good, but they have some nice players.
Donaghy helped fixed a ugtastic Mavs/Rockets series where Cuban had b****ed and moaned to the front office about Yao Ming.
Just sitting here watching every ex Rocket PG ball out in the playoffs (CP, Lowry, Dragic) while Russ is busy screaming at Rondo's brother with 10 points in our closeout game.
they shoot the midrange! Dragic hits a midrange with 57 seconds left making it 6 point game - almost an insurmountable lead. If it was Harden he would shoot a heavily contested 3, he would miss it and the opponent would score an easy basket in transition making it 2pts or even 1 point game.....
Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart Had Heated Confrontation After Game 2 Loss Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart had a heated confrontation following their Game 2 loss to the Miami Heat and had to be separated by teammates, multiple sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic. Smart stormed into the locker room saying that other players needed to be held accountable. As Smart continued and his voice grew louder, Brown shouted that players must stay together and that their actions must come as a team and not individually. Objects were thrown around during the interaction between Smart and Brown with teammates diffusing the situation before a physical altercation could take place. Smart and Brown have smoothed over tensions. “They will move past this and focus on the task,” a source said late Thursday. Smart also had verbal exchanges with a couple of assistant coaches during the game. The Boston Celtics trail 0-2 to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Considering what he's accomplished as a coach and executive over the last four decades, is Pat Riley the top basketball mind in NBA history?
