Oh man... it's not who you'd take over him, it's who would improve the team.

Just say no to Baron Davis and Gilbert Arenas... sheesh. And no Mike Bibby either! I would freak out if we ever got him.

We don't necessarily need a star there... maybe just a role player if we can get other players that know how to pass at other positions.

with the direction this team is going, and with the way jvg wants the team to be which is a center approached, i beleive we must point guard the likes of jkidd, steve nash, mike bibby and sam cassell are most logical choices. In jason kidd, even if he has a poor fg accuracy, he is strong leader, defender, and very smart. In steve nash, great shooter, ft and fg plus a clutch player, a smart player too though not good defensively. In mike bibby, a good shooter, ft and fg, smart and quick with very low to. But the same with steve nash, not a strong defender. In sam cassell, a big time clutch player, imagine if we have him and steve francis 2gether, wow, not that strong defensively and sometimes commits boneheaded plays which causes his teams w's, but a streak shooter probably the best stop and pop among all pg's. But personally, i wont pick any of the four. What im going to do is to find a mad scientist and ask him to invent a time machine and im going to go to utah to kidnap the greatest pure point guard in john stockton, and make him a 23 yo flopping, the ultimate short shorts, smartest, leadership unquestioned, great defender, strong fg and ft shooting and low to. Go yao ming. Go rockets

bobby jackson, anyone? injury concerns? as far as a "backup" pg, he's pretty freakin' solid. sometimes (when he's not injured) i think the kings look just as good when he's in as when bibby's on the court.
i'm just looking at options that might be "realistic." check the backup list of pg's around the league...

    With out question.

Jackson is exceptional point guard. Easily the best back up in the league. There was a time when Bibby was out last year that Jackson was the MVP of that team.

Great defense, explosive offense and very clutch.

How would the Rockets look with a point guard tandem of Bobby Jackson and Brent Barry?

Despite his "best of the year" performance last night, he has been "savaged" by just about every guard in the league. I would rate him in the second tier. Great athlete, but has too many fundamental flaws. I hope he is traded before next season.

steve has the biggest game of any rocket this year and clutchfans in return start about 3 threads talking about who's better/trade him while his stock his high/blah/blah...

Steve bashing is out of control.

It's clear from you're first sentence that you're biased.

Yao stood toe-to-toe with Shaq and won the game against the Lakers for us, that was huge.

Yao dropped 41 and 16 on the Hawks, that was huge.

Francis cruises all season long, and then when everyone's watching, he wins one game, and woop-dee-doo, he's saved the season.
