According to an article on newspaper, Nash will try free agent market after this season. He will be a great fit and an upgrade to our Houston Rockets. His outside jumper, penertration and ability to see the court should help us a lot. What do you guys think?
Nash is a talent, no doubt, but the big question addressed by most people on this board is: can he play defense under Van Gundy?
Rox excels on team defense, not individual defense. we have no lock down defenders. This is my dream point guard replacement if we get rid of francis. I can think of no one better. I would almost rather have Nash than Jason Kidd because of Nash's ability to hit jumpers.
It's not like Francis is a top defender. The opposing pgs routinely light up Francis. Replacing Nash with francis would be a huge upgrade in talent! Nash can hit the open jumper with ease and he can drive to the basket as well as francis. The key difference is Nash will pass out if there's no shots, whereas francis will force up a bad shot. I still think Nash will resign with dallas. He's already said this will be his last nba contract.
We can only offer the MLE. Don't see why he would settle for the MLE or why the Mavs would be willing to sign-and-trade him to us for the exception. The latter isn't likely unless Nash convinces Dallas he likes Houston so much he's willing to take our MLE. I'm not a huge fan of Nash, but I agree the Rockets should all options this summer.
I don't agree. I think Steve has more hearts than Nash. Steve can be a big clutch players, which brings the difference. Although Steve has a bad 3/4 qt of the season, yet he improved a lot in the last few games. man, you need take 'future' over 'current facts', I just consider Nash is an old, lazy player. SF is above him
I'd love for someone to go out and ask NBA players after they've made $20 million (which most have), why they continue to seek MONEY over going to a team where they'd fit in well. I find it foolish. I love money just like everyone else. But money can't make you happy. It can solve lots of problems, but there is still greed behind it all.
steve clutch? he's not that clutch. and he's not clutcher than nash. nash has proven he can hit the clutch shots in crunch time. he has the pure shooting abilities to do that. future francis? i just hope we can even get past francis back with the new offensive philosophy. nash old and lazy? now i've heard it all.
I wouldn't say Francis has more hearts than Nash. Both players play with a ton of heart. "Nash is an old, lazy player." No one that's ever seen Nash play would call him lazy or anything close to that. He's one of the hardest working players in the league. The guy hustles.
i would love nash on this team; when i see him play he always hustles and plays with heart. AND HE CAN PASS AND SHOOT AND NOT TURN THE BALL OVER SO MUCH!!!
Its like we havnt bashed this topic before.... anyways, be happy guys look forward to the playoffs, forget FA's for atleast the playoffs.
No argument here about how ridiculous NBA player salaries are. However, I don't think most NBA players pursue money because they think it will make them happy. I think the principles in their decision making are actually the same as those many of us use: maximize your earning potential, and get your perceived worth. Why do you ask for a raise? Maybe you need the money, but isn't it as much about getting as much as you can and getting what you think is "fair?" And isn't "fair" based on what your peers are getting or what you think your worth to the organization is? You're right, of course, about the pursuit of money over happiness. But I guess my point is that most of us, not just them, make the same mistake.
