Maybe he should’ve tried to get some low post offense going.

    he will be gone

Its more than bad game strategy. MDA's preferences have shaped the roster construction. MDA is just too nice to win. Doesnt have enforecers on the team , wont pick up T's , wont get fines , wont play a little dirty . .. You know that smile Vogel has , that billy donovan had ... that was the smile you make when you are getting away with ****.

someone needs to have dantoni run a marathon and then tell him to pick up the pace the last mile. He has never understood anything other than throwing one pitch.

we have PJ Tucker guarding Anthony Davis because we don't have any legit centers or power forwards
    this is on him

I think Morey and MDA are similar in a way...both of them have had a vision that changed the NBA. Both of them have innovated in a way that caused the entire NBA to copy what they're doing. Unfortunately the problem with both is that the copycats are much better. They paved the way and showed the other teams what to do, but other teams just do it way better than they do.

I'm not sure we can do better than Morey at GM, but I know we can do better than MDA at coach.

every big weve had over the last few years ( outside of 17-18 capela ) has been MDA's second choice. every big weve brought in , we lack the patience to try to develop them.

Mchale wanted bigs , Morey got Howard, Smith , DMO , tarick black , dorsey ... mchale played those guys ( even if they sucked ) and with harden we managed to be the 2nd seed.

We need a serious reloading . I dont know if its possible . What we need more than anything is balls , athleticism , size , and the desire to hurt some people.

PJ tucker on AD is the glaring example , but PJ tucker on AD with PJ playing 20 mpg instead of 35 is a huge difference.

This thread is as simplistic as an MDA game plan.

There's nothing wrong with a system provided you can make adjustments in it.

One thing you hear a lot in military is having a strategy to win the last war. That's what I see with D'Antoni. He's a really good regular season coach but runs into trouble in the playoffs.

I don't think it's an accident he's one of the winningest coaches to never go to the NBA Finals.

This isnt college basketball and while coaches can make a difference, the reality is Stars determine how much they are willing to be coached.

A coach could have the greatest plan in the world, but in the NBA, unless the star player follows it or believes in it, that plan is garbage.

you think if we had someone that implemented smart nuances and adjustments to the offense (pop, carlisle, etc) that harden wouldn't be on board?

MDA is gone. After two non-competitive games, you can't bring him back.
