Banh mi, seriously? Crazy that people would choose Banh Mi over a well made torta. Torta de la barda for the win!
Tortas are something that I can only eat infrequently. They are just too heavy and rich while can eat Banh Mi's almost every day.
Torta more expensive, great bread but heavier, food coma, delicious. banh mi is light, cheap, full of vegetables, have to remove the pepper why not both
Best Banh Mi in town is at a tiny place on Gessner called Roostar. Deeeelicious. You'll thank me. (they also have a location near Meyerland/Galleria)
Is there a better cuisine than Vietnamese? Its healthy, light, flavorful, delicious. All the boxes are checked.
Oh ****. This is may be the hardest of the BBS "A or B" polls. I say yes. eta: for a proper poll, ask Banh Mi (Chargrilled pork? That's my go-to) Phillly Cheesesteak Seafood Poboy (pick the seafood, I say softshell crab) Meatball Sub Mexican Torta (al pastor or carne asada) Italian Grinder Gyro (is it a sammich? I say yes)
I love Japanese, too. Thai. Chinese. Non-Americanized asian food is quite possibly the best thing ever. Americanized "Chinese" food is still good too. I was in NYC a few years ago and I got taken to a holeinthewall Burmese restaurant, never had Burmese food (wtf is that anyway? I say in my brain) in my life, and it was one of the best meals I've ever had.
