AMC is hanging up its zombie… kind of. The cable network has announced that its cornerstone series “The Walking Dead” will end with an upcoming super-sized eleventh season. The show’s final season will consist of 24 episodes, with the first 12 airing in 2021 and the final 12 bowing in 2022. That won’t be all though. AMC also confirmed that it has ordered two new spin-off series. One centering on Norman Reedus’ Daryl and Melissa McBride’s Carol to premiere in 2023, the other an anthology-themed offshoot. The shows delayed Season ten finale is set to air on October 4th followed by six bonus episodes in early 2021 that are part of season ten – meaning 31 new episodes are still set to air. People like it for the horror and action. The fractions let them stretched it for quite a while. I used to think maybe they come at it more from a science angle. Is there a cure? What resulted the original breakout. When they did the CDC in early season thought maybe they'd do that but after this many years the formula is pretty clear. Money shot zombie kills Get attach to a cast regular and they kill one or several at mid season and season finale. Rinse n Repeat. With so many of the cast leaving including Andrew Lincoln. The writing was on the wall. We'll see how the spin offs do, but hope they come with a fresher take.
I watched until the Glen season. Got too repetitive. I’m semi curious as to what happened since, think I’ll do a little Wikipedia.
I heard it got better the last season. But to see an actual "ending", gotta wait 3-5 more years when those movies drop? Well played AMC. Well played.
It was still passably watchable until they started to take all the guns out of the show. Put a fork in it.
this used to be my favorite show on TV I quit in S8...too stretched out and repetitive Negan and his arc was a dud to me it got way too formulaic...find a settlement, some group attacks, beat group...rinse and repeat if they had ever focused on a possible cure or alluded to anyone even trying to create one, I would’ve been very interested in that
Didn't we go into this show with Gimple and company saying don't expect a happy ending? Carol and Daryl ride off into their own show and lived happily ever after?/
Quit after Season 7 and never looked back. Felt good to escape. As terrible as that season was it should've been the series finale.
Never seen one episode. But then I've also never seen an episode of The Sopranos, Mad Men, Breaking Bad (....wait - I did see one episode of Breaking Bad. It was the one where he threw the pizza onto the roof).
Didnt they go to a CDC type place with a scientist and the one girl stayed behind? They should have went in that direction they went the easy way with what you said and the soap opera crap.
Should have just found the cure in Season 1. Negan became a walking pain in the arse. Liked the King and his Brodie tiger.
Gave Negan a chance when he first came on. The actor (Jeff D. Morgan) has hits & misses. His speeches got too long (that's the writers) and he milk the villainy role a bit over the top; borderline cartoony. Once the Saviors arc was over, they kept him around which I don't think did the show too much favor. Almost ruined Tekken for me when they put him as a guest character. The game trailer is well cut though.
That new walking dead show with the kids looks kind of corny. I guess that is for the young folk to watch.
I'll need to get my ****'n pants back on for one more long season. I had stopped watching but the whole last season was on my DVR. I was about to erase it but ended up watching it during the pandemic. Negan as a good guy raised the interest back just enough.
Stopped watching after the Prison, I could tell it was only going to be misery p*rn after The Farm. It seems I was correct.
