The Kings vs Minnesota match could be crucial in deciding whether the Rockets have a shot at the very least contending in the 1st round of the playoffs. If Minnesota loses, they'll drop to a #4 seed I believe. If they win, they'll be a #1 seed. Either way it sucks because the T-Wolves are my ideal matchup in the first round of the playoffs for the Rockets. We match up all too well against them and have actually beaten them on their home floor this year. Not to mention Steve tends to put in his best games against one of his closer buddies Cassell. It's just an all around ideal matchup for the Rockets.
The way the T-Wolves have played in the fourth quarter against the Kings coupled with the way we play in the fourth quarter, I'm not sure they're the best matchup after all. Who knows? I realize we've played them pretty well this year, but I'm not sure that matters when it comes to the playoffs. The T-Wolves have something to prove. After so many years not getting out of the first round, I can't see them blowing it this year -- especially with the way they're playing right now. Besides, with the way we're playing right now (except against the lowly Clippers), I'm not sure there is a good match up for us.
Well, right now, the rockets would play the kings. Minny won. and if they win out, they will be the number 1 seed in the west. and the Kings are only one game ahead of the lakers, with LA playing the Kings on Sunday. The rockets could easily play the lakers in the first round. The Rockets need to win tomorrow. regular season games dont get much bigger than this.
i want to play wolves because sac town will definetly sweep us. i also know that we could never emulate the kings, and if we are to emulate any team, i think the wolves would be a good team to do that, and some of it might stick when and if they beat us, influencing how we train over the summer.
Man, it could be dream series for NBA. Yao vs Shaq face to face in the playoff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! None better than that.
Rockets give the Lakers fits. For some reason, the Lakers can't get into a smooth rhythm like they do against the Mavs, Kings and Twolves. Maybe (like Tom Tolbert said about 2 weeks ago) the Rox 'ugly up the game' so much that it throws the Lakers off rhythm. That being said, we'll be lucky to win a game against them.
if we face the lakers: i bet either 1. Yao will totally dominate shaq or 2. Yao will get himself owned. If yao dominates we win.
I hear you guys but I'm not taking us getting into the playoffs for granted. At this point, I don't care at all who we play.
So what it will be a learning experience for the Team and the Management. You know how complacent the Rockets Managementy is, they dont need to be thinking that we dont need to make any changes!
I'm rooting for a Rox-Lakers matchup. True, Rockets might get killed, but that will be the best playoff experience for Yao and Rockets. It's good for Rockets in a long run.
So, who do we root for tonight, Rox or Nugs? If we fall to 8th seed, we still may get T-wolves. I would rather face them than anybody else. Might be best if the Nugs win tonight.
