... and yet no one in the media lays that at his feet.

If Harden didn't score a point in the fourth quarter of a playoff game, people on this board would be losing their minds and the media would be crucifying him.

LBJ disappears in the 4th of a playoff game, his team gives up midway through the quarter (despite his supposed godlike leadership skills) and everyone just wants to gush over a meaningless dunk he had in a 15 point loss.

Harden drops a super efficient 36 on what's supposed to be the best defense in the NBA, and dunks on Lebron and its not even a story.

    Huge double standard.

I'm pretty sure Harden scored in the 4th.

If you get physical with Lebron and bring intensity, it tends to throw his game off.

We have strong perimeter defenders with active hands to play him the right way.

When you win 3 rings you get the benefit of the doubt.

Uhm, yeah - I'm pretty sure he did too. What does that have to do with Lebron James not scoring in the 4th?

the narrative will be the same as it was after game 1 against Portland...that this was a “feel out game” for Lebron and he’ll dominate game 2...rust after a long layoff will also be an excuse that is used

go ahead and take your time “feeling out” the Rockets and catching L’s...this ain’t the Blazers

You’re right. Harden is just better than Lebron overall (as great as LeBron is). As long as the Rockets have Harden in the lineup......Rockets will always have the advantage this playoffs.....I don’t care what team they play.

GSW has the edge because they were just too ridiculously stacked and EVEN THEN, with one Harden Rockets were still a problem for them.

Harden really has the maturation now to go with his GOAT game. I’m glad the Rockets got past CP3 and the Thunder for a myriad of reasons. I’m also relieved because I thought the Rockets would have won round 1 in 6 or less.

Either it’s proven to be the battle test Rockets needed to win a championship.

Yep. I'm willing to trade all the highlights his heart desires for a win.

Yea but he had that thunderous slam on Russ and and and and that's what we all need to remember and lick on...LOL

I think Marc Davis blew a load on himself a couple times when Lebron made a play

Who says the Lakers have anything close to the best defense in the NBA?

They make excuses for LeBron's age. He is not in great shape....he tired out many times tonight...he went out for a rest more times than any other starter on both teams. Maybe it is time to consider moving on in his life.

I think that’s what most people’s justification is. I don’t like it. But it’s the way people are judged in the media. It won’t ever go away unless he wins a chip, fair or not.

he is 35 years old and led his team to the finals 8 times winning some of them. if you dont understand why he would not get a pass... i mean i dunno

isn't he averaging a trip double for the playoffs?

not only does he have the rings and the playoff pedigree, but losing game 1 is like a lebron tradition. and winning the series after he loses game 1 is also a tradition. so until there's reason to think tradition has been broken, the media isn't going to care.
