By the way, Ousmane Cisse's # is 42 as well, there seems to be some concern about a previous knee operation(re: the comments about disease free), he has hasn't been in for a workout and wasn't at Chicago. Check the comment about "not wanting to play 42 but pick 'em instead". Hmmmm... pick #42....

For example, if I said I was engaged in a little trois-action with two beautiful women, well, all you can say is wow!! I would've never guessed you do something sao freaky. ( Of course, I'd have to make sure that the girls are both healthy and disease free. Don't want to take that kind of risk! )

I to think this could refer to Grant Hill and Webber in a three way trade with Webber going to Orlando and Hill coming to Houston

If I say to someone, 'I'm so glad you want to be here, I'd miss you' well, that could be a misrepresentation I guess.

I think this doesn't refer to the Rockets; Doc River's in an interview with Bob Costas last week said that they were not interested in trading Grant Hill because he had picked Orlando when they were down. He also went on to say he would use Hill more as a point forward. Do the Magic want three small forwards when they could have Webber. Remember Magrady was an after thought after they couldn't land Duncan but turned out to be better than anyone expected. (misrepresentation)

I think this might mean that Olajuwon wants to stay.......

    R-fan,

Thank you very much. I've been here approximately the same time frame-- although it was a while before I actually started posting. I love your sig by the way! [IMG]

So, any other takes on what the post means? Doc's already got someone worried that CD is retiring and Rudy will be our GM... what's the next evaluation? [IMG]

heypartner met his first Jude last week; Cisse went to St. Jude high school.

It has absolutely nothing to do with this post, but it is cryptic.

Guys, I've read everything, everyone's post. I think I'm dead on:

"First of all I want to say that I don't have a problem with ROCKETGUY or his site at all. Rumors and misrepresentation of facts is what keeps the pot stirring. For example, if I said I was engaged in a little trois-action with two beautiful women, well, all you can say is wow!! I would've never guessed you do something sao freaky. ( Of course, I'd have to make sure that the girls are both healthy and disease free. Don't want to take that kind of risk! )"

What the Rocket guy said is fairly accurate. We were trying to unload Cato and still are. The transaction refers to the deals with Orlando and Detroit. We engaged in some stuff with them. Why would we say it's freaky? Cause, Detroit get an excellent pick next year in exchange for what? A trade, a bit lopsided in our favour, that unloads Cato to either Detroit or Orlando. The risk refers to all this wink-wink business we'll have going on.

"If I say to someone, 'I'm so glad you want to be here, I'd miss you' well, that could be a misrepresentaion I guess.

Or, if I said, 'I'm tired of playing 42, let's play pick 'em instead' well, that could be a fact even if you didn't want to play 42 either! But it doesn't matter, everyone loves to play 42 even though the dealer wants to play another game!"

Obviously refers to Walt Williams, and how the rule changes (the different game) will affect his trade value. Everyone wants to play 42? the dealer=stern.....We'd tell Walt we're glad u wanna be here, we'll miss you, but he thinks we want him to stay, but we don't!

"Or, let's see, what if I said, 'If you want to succeed in life, if you want to move up the ladder, you've got to do the little things. You've got to make things happen, you've got to pick your battles', that could be a fact or just advice."

These are the "future considerations" that we got from dealing with the other two teams. You gotta pick your battles, do the little things. Obviously, it refers to who we go into the draft with as buddies.

"You see, it's all up in the air! A trois equipes is staring at us, we all want to move up the corporate ladder, we love having people come over and we love it when our friends stay to meet them, even though our BEST friend is not there. By the way, here's a piece of advice, if you're a teacher and you have a talented child that you can see is talented, always compliment the other kids so no one knows HOW talented this kid is. Then when you pick the class leader, everyone will say 'WOW, what a good idea!!' See? It's all about doing the right thing. It's about ethics - like they have in Europe, for instance. We could use some of their customs over here during trying times!"

This can't be reffering to Gasol. We've expressed too much interest. Like someone said, it's the other European guy who I've heard is better than Gasol and better than Nowitzki when he came in. He came in for the workout, we loved him, we kept quiet. Then when we pick him, "what a good idea".

"Basically, the enthusiasm ROCKETGUY has for the team is obvious! And you know me, I have this 'thing' for the obvious! It's my job. Everyone should have a trade!"

This says it all. After everything, after people have picked for people, after everything's said and done, there will be a monstrous trade to put everyone, including Cato and a high pick, where they belong.

Sounds like the organization has turned over string of hay in the haystack to find the needle.

But notihng that says Webber is coming....Maybe hopes are adrift?

[Doc Rocket:]First of all I want to say that I don't have a problem with ROCKETGUY or his site at all. Rumors and misrepresentation of facts is what keeps the pot stirring.

[jumper]'Pot' is duchy, dope, weed, mary jane, herb. The stuff Doc was smoking when he wrote this. [IMG]

[Doc Rocket:]For example, if I said I was engaged in a little trois-action with two beautiful women, well, all you can say is wow!! I would've never guessed you do something sao freaky.

[jumper]The beautiful women are Thompson and Swoopes. This has something to do with the interaction between the Comets and the Rox. CD is retiring, Rudy moving to GM, Van to head coach of the Rox, Murph to head coach of the Comets, and Bull to color on broadcasts. That 'sao freaky' enough for ya?

[Doc Rocket:] ( Of course, I'd have to make sure that the girls are both healthy and disease free. Don't want to take that kind of risk! )

[jumper]Rox have a history of turning down done deals based on physicals. Take Sean Elliot for example. We have something in the works but it is contingent on suspicious physical exam.

[Doc Rocket:]If I say to someone, 'I'm so glad you want to be here, I'd miss you' well, that could be a misrepresentaion I guess.

[jumper]How much would we miss Murph's corn during broadcasts? We'd have to watch games on mute unless *gasp* Bullard retires to do color in Murph's stead.

[Doc Rocket:]Or, if I said, 'I'm tired of playing 42, let's play pick 'em instead' well, that could be a fact even if you didn't want to play 42 either! But it doesn't matter, everyone loves to play 42 even though the dealer wants to play another game!

[jumper] Playing a different game is the new zone. The 'dealer' is David Stern playing games with the league to boost attendance. "Pick 'em" is possibly the hated Jazz.

[Doc Rocket:]Or, let's see, what if I said, 'If you want to succeed in life, if you want to move up the ladder, you've got to do the little things. You've got to make things happen, you've got to pick your battles', that could be a fact or just advice.

[jumper] Everyone moving up the ladder, promotions for everyone this offseason: Rudy, Van, Murph, Bull. Could be, or maybe it is just a suggestion (advice.)

[Doc Rocket:]You see, it's all up in the air! A trois equipes is staring at us, we all want to move up the corporate ladder, we love having people come over and we love it when our friends stay to meet them, even though our BEST friend is not there.

[jumper]A trois equipes is the three pieces of equipment, ball rack, shot clock, and rusty curl bar that we are asking in exchange for Cato.

Best friend? Didn't Murph and Rudy bond as rommates during their playing years? Les wanted to get Murph off the broadcast team before. Maybe he does again.

[Doc Rocket:]By the way, here's a piece of advice, if you're a teacher and you have a talented child that you can see is talented, always compliment the other kids so no one knows HOW talented this kid is. Then when you pick the class leader, everyone will say 'WOW, what a good idea!!' See? It's all about doing the right thing. It's about ethics - like they have in Europe, for instance. We could use some of their customs over here during trying times!

[jumper]Doc says it's all about ethics. Well the Rox "owe" MO and Shandon big contracts. We can't afford to not do right by them while pursuing big name free-agents. Doc thinks we should use the tried and true European custom of bribery. Don't get caught. We could be the next MIN on that count.

[Doc Rocket:]Basically, the enthusiasm ROCKETGUY has for the team is obvious! And you know me, I have this 'thing' for the obvious! It's my job. Everyone should have a trade!

[jumper]Everyone should have a trade means we are looking to trade ALL of our FA. The only untouchable is Franchise. We are going to build around him at all costs. Shouldn't that much be obvious? It's my job is CD. He is always looking to pull the trigger on BIG trades but has been stopped by management, players etc. CD lives for the thrill of the chase on these blockbuster five team deals that don't fit our needs any longer. He doesn't have any interest in other duties so he is retiring.

Let us off the hook, Doc.

best friends....Mobley would be Francis' best friend. Now, would you sacrifice him to get a feller by the number of 42, and the name of Brand, who is also Stevie's friend?

A more likely guess is that the best friend is Webber....who we will miss/missed out on, only to receive a nice package of consolation prize (friends).

I think this may be one of the better insights in this thread... good analysis Glyde.

Much of Doc's post we'll just have to take a wait and see attitude with. I could see 42 standing for other players or things besides Walt, including Cato's contract. Battier could qualify as someone that does the little things, but so could Terence Morris, Robert Horry, and some others. The only things I feel a little more certain of after reading his posts is that the European the Rockets want is Vladamir and not Pau, that the Bulls are close to taking Cato, and that a three-way trade for either the draft or free agency is in discussion.
