I know who cares if u are have a winning record against the west the Rockets have one of the best records against the east which is a weaker conference.
Lighten up, Francis-es! Stein's point is interesting, and he beats the hell out of their other NBA reporters. The point is that, in the playoffs, you play at least your first three rounds within your conference. So you can look at people's records within their conference and guess how they might pan out in the playoffs. So, um, yeah. We suck at playing the teams we might play in the playoffs. He's wrong when he uses the word "deserve," of course, but Tb-Cain doesn't need to be treated like a troll or some such.
Even though Rox did not play like they deserve to be in the playoffs in the last few games. They've been doing a fine job almost the entire season, if we have the better win-lose, we're in the playoff. Screw Denver or Utah, they don't belong to the same class we are in.

I'm going to respond to you seriously. First of all, outside of my family and my job, I've never worried about being "classy". Maybe I should change that, but not for you guys. Not trying to be contrary or anything, I'm just saying what I feel. As far as this thread is concerned, saying your team doesn't deserve to make the playoffs, even if they make them is what's not classy. Its really ridiculous, and just shows how fair weather some of these fans are. And B-Bob, I think Marc Stein's point is that the Rockets don't deserve to make the playoffs because of their record against the west, which is ridiculous, because everyone's schedule is the same in regards to toughness. The Rockets took care of business against the East and these so called fans should be happy for that at least, because that's going to be the key to them getting in. And after that, its a new season.
Who cares whether Stein thinks we deserve a playoff spot or not, I don't care if the Rockets are 0-40 against the West, the Rockets are 7th best in the West right now. Time to take care of business at Denver and virtually clinch a playoff spot.

The Rockets haven't been in the playoffs for the past 5 years. The fans have had to watch all of the crap that the players throw up and the bad decision making in order to screw the team out of making it, so i say........the FANS deserve for the Rockets be in the playoffs. I miss the atmosphere. We have a better record than those other teams, so I'm taking it and running with it.....We are going to be in the playoffs again .....its a nice feeling, really. GO ROX!!!! So why do half the teams in the east deserve to make the playoffs with BELOW .500 records??? Marc Stein is as creddible as Peter Vescey in my opinion. I guess the Kings don't deserve to make the playoffs either b/c they have lost a bunch of games since Webber returned, or the Lakers b/c they have lost 2 in a row. It's the NBA and it's a lonnnng season. Teams go through stretches where they struggle. The Rockets just happen to be doing it at the wrong time. Peace.

The Rockets have lost five straight games. Yes. The Nuggets, Jazz, and Blazers continue to win. Yes. With the Denver Nuggets visiting Houston Friday however, a win by the Rockets would give them 44 wins, and in my mind clinch at least 8th seed. A win over Denver would make them worthy of the playoffs. Just my opinion. Friday. Biggest game of the season.
