If we want to Trade francis for someone, why not Gilbert. Send francis back home with mo Taylor and we can get Arenas and Kwame Brown.

One mediocre PF for another mediocre PF and a non-PG, PG for another non-PG, PG.

    Why???

Allstar what? Bench Warmer? Allstar bust?

give me a reason why The former number 1 pick overall doesn't merit a big BUST on his forehead.

That sounds all too familiar...what was that guy's name we were all hyped up about? Eddie something?

Face it, Gilbert Arenas is a poor man's Steve Francis. Hell, he's a bankrupt man's Steve Francis. He is not what you want next to Yao. I understand Hinrich to an extent, and would actually love to see Ray here in Htown, but Gilbert and Kwame? Please...we'd get rid of the "stupid backcourt" problem by adding in "i don't wanna share the ball with post players" and "i'm a #1 pick, i deserve playing time" problems.

hmm, i don't like arenas one bit, but im beginning to have second thoughts about kwame, i really think he needs a new setting. I dont know about his defense, but he has good footwork and handles for a 7footer (okay, cliche), and honestly considering that eddie would be in cato's spot if that incident didnt happen, i dont see kwame that worse than eddie. in fact, i would gladly take a developing kwame over cato, to develop along with yao in the front court. better ask ewing first if he's coachable.

Ignorance! Arenas ans Francis are the same type of player. So, let's trae Steve for poor mans Steve. Go look at Arenas' TO ratio.

I'm all for getting Kwame cheap, don't get me wrong. He is worth the risk. But adding Arenas into that package and giving up Steve is way too much. Sure it'd be nice to have a developing young PF who might be a stud, but Kwame and Arenas have their own chemistry problems. Don't really need that disrupting our chemistry (what little there is of it). Plus Arenas rubs teammates the wrong way, or so I hear (ESPN the Mag had a piece on him a while back). Add into that the fact that Gilbert is a major downgrade from THIS year's francis, let alone career francis, and I just HAVE to say pass on this deal.

Francis sucks. No GM in his right mind wants him. The ones who are out of their minds have been fired already. Layden was the Rockets only hope of dumping Francis and his pea brain on another team.

Don't trade SF, even think about it. He is the leader of the team, yao never will be a leader, just like Dirk and Fenley, Yao is too young and his language barrier make him not a team leader.

I can see SF love this team and give him some time or move him to the SG...... next year we will see.

Gilbert Arenas isn't that good. The redeeming factor in this trade is that Kwame Brown isn't the bust people though, he's development is coming slow, but when he gets the ball he can score, also a good rebounder, unlike MoT. But... if Arenas doesn't pass him the ball in Washington, why would he pass him the ball in Houston.

Actually... I'd like to have Kwame Brown on the team. Under the right coaching he could flourish. But Arenas isn't as good as Steve.

Kwame Brown is a very good one-on-one post defender. He has terrific post moves. He will be an all-star one day.

I would trade MoT for Brown.

Okay why would a team want Francis.

He’s not a good PG. That’s why there have been about a million threads on ClutchCity suggesting trading him and another million suggesting moving him to SG. His failures as a PG include but are not limited to: 1) inability to run an offense that doesn’t feature him; 2) lack of good court vision; 3) poor clock management; 4) poor control of tempo; 5) poor defense; 6) poor outside shooting; 7) terrible decision making in critical situations such as end of game; 8) poor decision making in running the break; 9) overdribbling killing the 24 second clock. Basically a list of most things you want a PG to do.

His failures as a SG would include many of the above plus now you have to find a complimentary large PG since he can’t guard 2s, he can’t even guard 1s well.

Now add the fact that his contract is long and high and explain to me why a team would want to trade valuable talent, established talent like Allen, promising and inexpensive talent like Hinrich; questionable talent but at least talent that hasn’t been at it for so many years showing little if any progress like Arenas, or high draft picks for potential very good talent like Okofur. I'm all eyes. The dumbest argument I've heard is he's a star who sells tickets. Fact is Houston snookered themselves. They were a bad team and every team has somebody who scores. Look at Atlanta with Jackson and Sura. Francis was the one in Houston and the Rockets thought they had The Franchise. They way overpayed for a guy that isn't a good PG and won't be a good SG and they won't have an easy time moving him.

This is the best description of the trade proposal. Case closed.

If you think Francis is bad for this team, wait till you get Arenas. He is from the same mode of Francis, without the talent.

I understand that you think Francis is terrible and you're entitled to your opinion, but if you honestly think that no team would trade for Steve Francis, then the hate in your blood has corroded your vision. Don't be an idiot.
