Why would Atlanta do that trade? I thought they were looking to trade down, not acquire more high picks.

Or was that just a smokescreen so they can take Battier and then take a risk on a high school phenom?

OMG! Could it be that RudyT is looking to 'move up the ladder?' He has been under a lot of stress and had some health problems as a result of long hours. I'll be checking nba.com everyday to see if an Coach T has been announced as the new GM.

This could make sense for a lot of reasons:
    1.Rudy's health
2.Rudy wanting more time with his son
3.Need for a coach with a harder nose to whip slackers into shape
4.Part of the process of shipping Dream out of Houston
5.Move Murph into a coaching capacity?
6.CD retiring because of his own health?
7.Need for more office staff to deal with expanding Comets needs

I won't sleep tonight because of this.

Testing my new sig too. Thanks to Runnin Raven for showing the link. My info was grossly out of date.

I seriously hope that is not the case, jumper. Rudy is a great coach, and the main reason why FAs like to sign with us, because he is a players coach.

"ut one or more of the players are hurting." The third team must be Philadelphia, because everyone on that team is hurting.

Even if the Rockets were to move up to number 4, would that really be high enough to pick Battier? I've heard that the Hawks are going to take him at 3. And wouldn't 4 be a little high for Gasol? Golden State is unlikely to take him at 5, and the Grizz are in love with Jason Richarson at 6. In my mind, I would move up to 7, New Jersey, and draft Joe Johnson.(Yeah I know that has nothing to do with what Doc said but hey, why not?)

    Runnin Raven,

I can't bear the thought either. It will be a sad, sad day when we announce Dream is no longer a Rock and Rudy has been kicked upstairs so Murph can coach.

    Doc! Say it ain't so!

Doc Rocket is my hero. Who else could induce this kind of craziness? I can't believe noone has done an analysis of why the topic says THERE"S instead of THERE'S. Maybe the extra quote is for extra crypticness. Or maybe Doc is just a poor typist. [IMG]

Here is my take on it.

First of all I want to say that I don't have a problem with ROCKETGUY or his site at all. Rumors and misrepresentation of facts is what keeps the pot stirring. For example, if I said I was engaged in a little trois-action with two beautiful women, well, all you can say is wow!! I would've never guessed you do something sao freaky. ( Of course, I'd have to make sure that the girls are both healthy and disease free. Don't want to take that kind of risk! )

He must be talking about grant hill in a three way trade. Maybe with Webber involved

If I say to someone, 'I'm so glad you want to be here, I'd miss you' well, that could be a misrepresentaion I guess.

I think this shandon anderson or Cato. I think Cato. Someone we want to get rid of.

Or, if I said, 'I'm tired of playing 42, let's play pick 'em instead' well, that could be a fact even if you didn't want to play 42 either! But it doesn't matter, everyone loves to play 42 even though the dealer wants to play another game!

This is definitely the Wizard. He very popular on the team but does not fit in

Or, let's see, what if I said, 'If you want to succeed in life, if you want to move up the ladder, you've got to do the little things. You've got to make things happen, you've got to pick your battles', that could be a fact or just advice.

This refers to moving up in the draft and getting battier. Maybe by giving up draft picks or role players we may not want to really lose.

You see, it's all up in the air! A trois equipes is staring at us, we all want to move up the corporate ladder, we love having people come over and we love it when our friends stay to meet them, even though our BEST friend is not there. By the way, here's a piece of advice, if you're a teacher and you have a talented child that you can see is talented, always compliment the other kids so no one knows HOW talented this kid is. Then when you pick the class leader, everyone will say 'WOW, what a good idea!!' See? It's all about doing the right thing. It's about ethics - like they have in Europe, for instance. We could use some of their customs over here during trying times!

The up in the air stuff is about jordan and his possible comeback with Chucky and Hakeem. I think if jordan comes back, Dream is gone for sure. Getting new friends reference is either grant hill or webber. Best friend is Hakeem. If we want to get who we really want, we hype the other players so other teams pick them and we can pick the one we really want. That is why we are hyping the European.

Basically, the enthusiasm ROCKETGUY has for the team is obvious! And you know me, I have this 'thing' for the obvious! It's my job. Everyone should have a trade!

Doc thinks its obvious what the rockets want.

Could 42 be the high 24? I don't know enough about play names to even guess what the rest would mean.

    It's 24 high! [IMG]......... [IMG]

Shandon+Mo=40+2=42. Maybe Rudy thinks they are the future 3 and 4 for this team, but the organization feels they can replace them through the draft.

I'm really surprised that there have been no more info on Webber pulled from the post.

As for my discoveries, there is nothing that I took from the post that has not been said already. All I know is that I'm sure we'll be dealing with the Bulls sometime this summer.

    rimbaud covered quite a bit...
I see it as a 3 way deal going
    down.
involving player/or players where health has been a concern in the past...and a move up in the draft.
Walt is involved, teams want him..unload that salary
losing Dream, but keeping Taylor and possibly SA
Air reference could be to M.J.- Bullets could be involved.
There is the sing song grammatical error along with the Sao ref.too...and the Euro part...?
also typical Rockets disinfo being tossed as to where we are going..
    just beginning to perculate.

Also, one more thing I got out of it. Doc could be hinting that Bill's info is on the money, and Cato will be moved in a 3 way swap.

So, we ought to make a Bobblehead doll of Doc Rocket to bounce around with his devilish doodlings.

So, would you trade Doc Rocket for The Rocket Guy bobblehead doll.

The Rockets' team doctors had better be absolutely sure that Hill's ankle will be 'ok' or this is a very, very bad idea.

I think he's talking about a 3 way trade that involves 2 players that were injured & it needs to be verified that they are healthy before the trade will fall into place. What players were injured last year & might be available for trade? Cato, Dream, Hill, KVH, ZO, Fortson, Ratliff, KMart, Battie(ref: battles?), Bonzi Wells, Camby, rookies Donnell Harvey(Dallas), & Etan Thomas(Washington). I doubt ZO, Fortson, KMart, or Ratliff would be on the block, but you never know.

The "do something so freaky" comment might mean trading someone on our roster that would be considered off limits. Someone like Cat, maybe? Or, it could mean we're signing Rodman. He's both freaky & should be checked for diseases. [IMG]

    Doc,

Isn't about time for some more cryptology? [IMG]

This could be about Cato & his $42 mill contract. It could mean that the Rockets are getting a lot of interest in him, but no one wants to give up something of value.

Or, could this be referring to Brand? He's #42. Maybe the "let's play pick 'em instead" phrase is referring to us giving up picks with Cato for Brand. Okay, I give up for now. It's time to get some sleep. Good night all.

i believe this reference to rocket guy is actually c-webb. he has expressed enthusiasm for the rockets, and we would be an obviouse choice 'cause we so openly lust for the guy. and it's his job, 'cause c-webb refers to ball as his job. the trade remark confirms that it will be a sign and trade.... i hope.
