This year Rockets is not the best team apart from GS... we don't know how Rockets would fare against teams like OKC, 76ers, Bucks and Raptors in playoffs. You are probably saying it based on previous year's performance, but this year's team is not same..it's a dwarf team who can never get a meaningful rebound and choke come pressure time. By going through only this year's playoffs performance it can be argued that they are better than Utah but same as Clippers.
Rebounds game 6, most critical game. Kawhi 17 Tucker 4 Gordon 1 Players are small, coach wants them to defend guards while playing forwards. Tucker plays 45 minutes, Gordon 37 minutes.
So what they were best team last year, you're telling me you gonna fire the GM every year your team isn't the best one? The reality is a lot of things that happened this year can't be predicted by any statistical models or even human minds. How many people said Cp3 would have his worst FG% ever this year? Why will Faried and House out up double doubles in the regular season then become total 0 the moment playoffs started? Harden plays like the Goat in the regular season, chokes massively in the playoffs. These are human faults which nobody can predict so you don't blame the GM for that, except maybe not firing Dumbtoni for not coaching during games.
CP3 declining is actually the easiest to predict. Maybe not the worst shooting ever but surely people could see him shoot worse. Harden always had up and downs in the Playoffs. My favorite series with him is still the Spurs series when he dominated them as a OKC Thunder and being a 6th man. That was the most dominant I have seen him in the Playoffs, just not statswise. That was a long time ago.
