"For some crimes in this country, you forfeit them" - how many rights does one have in prison?

Nothing isolates the police killing unarmed men of any colour.

A responding officer doesn’t read a probable cause affidavit or any testimony for that matter. They’ll hear a short statement on what charges they’re wanted for, whether they might be considered armed, etc. The quote from the victim is not baked into their decision making.

I’ve posted in another thread how the officers may have acted lawfully. However, character assassination of a homicide victim (Blake) serves no purpose in evaluating the actions of the cops in that moment. If the shooting was wrong, it was wrong.

Who are you quoting? And prison is after a conviction through due process. There’s no crime on this planet where due process is surrendered. The Boston marathon bomber was taken alive and appointed a lawyer

Oh it's definitely wrong. This has happened in other circumstances where the officers go free. Philando Castile's shooting is like this and without a doubt incredibly one sided on which party is at fault.

I'm just saying that in recent memory, the nation's collective urge to be Tough on Crime gave officers a pass when the victim's rap sheet was marked with heinous offenses.

I'm not sure that will change any time soon as extreme inequality is creating definite Winners and Losers among communities and even parts of towns.

Voters are reactionary and are afraid of every one else.

Law enforcement is just a tool to smooth out the symptoms of society rather than a cure.

Due process - does that include a warrant?
