    https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...-van-gundy-emerging-as-candidate-report-says/

I find it funny thou, that in this article says that van gundy will come along and switch the team to play more on defense. So i guess reason mike was probably not resign to contract? When this happens does the roster go as well? Your going to have to find defensive players more like Ariza. The 3pt shooters they have now will still be around?

Lots of question marks if they do go out either now or against lakers. Thats if Mike system works, im assuming its Finals or bust for mike? But it was the other day they said he was looking to resign Mike. Who knows.

I'm not worried about defense, we haven't played any since MDA arrived.

Our problem is our Star Player that doesnt show up when you need him most that kills us. If he did, we'd be preparing for the second round by now.

There has not been a defensive butt whipping of this magnitude since Jordan's Bulls.

    And 19 in 4th.

When Schroder ejected, Rockets up by 20.

Rockets denying OKC mid range shots, excellent defensive adjustment.

That's a McHale joke. You recycling that **** already, how hard up are you?

Rockets have the #1 defense in the playoffs.

Only a real Rockets fan would jeer at that instead of celebrating it amirite?

Even you have to admit, that is brilliant.

The next adjustment is a counter when Dort attacks basket then stops and pops.

Or Donovan does the smart thing and removes Doert when it it becomes obvious that he can no longer check Harden.

But Donovan's adjustments have been putrid. He is punching above his weight class.

People in here still hating on Mike D? Smh

not sure why any rockets fan would still be saying he doesn’t care about defense. He knows better than anyone you have to be able to defend to have a chance to win it all. Going small doesn’t mean we don’t defend it just forces teams to try and beat us in ways they may not be comfortable with for 48 minutes and I can’t think of any matchup having Clint would really give us a better chance to win.

this is not a 1 game or series thing.

this is his entire tenure. yes. and we've not had issues in the first round of the playoffs for defensive adjustments.
only in the later rounds in close games.

here's an example. last year vs the warriors. zero adjustments and we lost in Houston to a warriors team without KD.
    It's a legit gripe.

all coaches have been fired. And D'Antoni has been fired multiple times.

the issues don't go away after we win a game. even though most people think like this.
I understand like 1% of Clutchfans evaluates player and coaches from their body of work, not their last work.

D'Antoni has only been fired ONCE by the Nuggets his first NBA HC experience. Mike resigned from the Suns, the Knicks and the Lakers.

So are you this ignorant or do you purposefully deal in misinformation, e.g. lies, to support your agendas? Serious question.

And as a Tilman apologist, you dont seem to trust him much.

Tilman Fertitta: “I think I have one of the NBA’s great coaches in Mike D’Antoni. And I think I have one of the best basketball ops groups, Daryl and his whole team. Personally, I love Mike. But I’m going to leave it up to the general manager. I surely would like to have Mike back. If Daryl wants to have Mike back, I’m sure Mike is going to be back.”

Mike D’Antoni returns in his fourth season as the Rockets’ coach. He’s stepping into the final year of his contract after extension talks broke down over the summer. “I think Mike D’Antoni’s going to be coaching here for a long time,” Fertitta told Yahoo Sports.

what adjustment do you think shouldve been made?

it is 100% false to say we have not defended his entire tenure here. we have always been at LEAST middle of the road and have been top 10. I would even say after the 65 win team offense in the playoffs has been a bigger problem than the defense. this year I think we have both right now.
