I was kind of confusing him with Michael B. Jordan for a little bit. My bad.

The fact he was able to do all these films while sick and keeping it secret shows how strong/determined he was. I really wish we got better news, ie he beat it and let us know.

RIP - I honestly still can't believe this, especially when I read it the 1st time.

My dad passed away with colon cancer 16 years ago. It can sneak up to you without screenings.

If you ever see blood in your poop or dark colored poop two or more times in recent memory, by all means, freak the **** out (beets will give false alarms). Because once you can't ignore it, it's probably Stage 3 by then...That's mostly a 5 year death sentence.

Eat fiber supplements or high fiber cereals. I know a lot of meat lovers here probably don't eat enough vegetables. 1 or 2 servings a day is still not enough.

**** is serious in every meaning.

I still can't believe it took T'Challa. I've seen what chemo and radiation does to people upfront. Bulking up with that and going through marathon sessions of filming or press junkets during a cycle is ****ing unreal. All of those things drain the life out of a person, both mentally and physically.

It's too soon, but Boseman can now getting some well deserved rest. RIP and condolences to his family.

Usually a diagnosis like this before age 40 means it runs in the family. Truly unfortunate.

This is terrible. What's even worse is 39 (when he w ask diagnosed) doesn't fit recommendations for a colonoscopy. Neither does 43. Unless you have a family history (he might have with his early diagnosis) it's 50. Although I've seen patients in their 20's.

RIP to a star on the rise. Wow. I'm shocked.

I interact with people with this type of disease every day, and I can't believe you can film movies (and bulk up, as others said) throughout. Unreal.

One thing I've learned about working with cancer patients:

Not everybody that is sick with cancer looks like they do in the movies. You don't always know. So, when you think you're having a bad day, or when someone does something to piss you off, just remember, you have no idea what that person is going through in their life. It may help put things in perspective a bit, and may keep you from flipping your lid for some stupid reason.

I talked to someone with colon cancer awhile back and I want to say he mentioned an exploratory treatment now for colon cancer that probes the colon and isolates the cancerous area with radiation. Do you know anything about it?

We're not doing that yet. I'm assuming that's some sort of intraoperative treatment, which we don't do. The standard is still radiation with chemo pills, typically and then surgery after, if needed.

My condolences to you and your family regarding your Dad. People should need your message. Colon cancer will absolutely sneak up on you and put you down. My Dad was diagnosed Stage 3 about a year ago. He has been in remission for about a month but as you point out, it'll highly likely be back. The second time around it can be in your lungs or liver. Do not **** around with cancer (my Mom passed two years ago from breast cancer after a 6 yr battle).

My dad, after I begged him for 15 years, finally got a colonoscopy done at 65. His doctor forced to have one because of his heart burn/indigestion.
Found a 5 cm mass in his colon. Stage 0 colon cancer. Had surgery, avoided chemo..and doing well.

Please people, do your screenings! Cancer is no fun.

His death will likely save many lives.
