I think the McMichaels were wrong to attempt a citizen's arrest on Arbery since they didn't witness him committing any felony. The crowd attacked the kid as he was running away. In the audio, you can hear people yell "Get him". I don't think they were trying to detain him for the authorities.
I saw the video and the guy who got shot threw a trash bag at him yet you are claiming he needed deadly force.
At the 2:55 mark please watch how the two groups actually get along, then closer to 3:45 appears the first guy that gets shot that looks like a miniature stone cold Steve Austin that is also a bad hombre that says “shoot me ni***” which seems kinda bad language and The point is he’s already Amped and you can tell just wants to engage and fight from the get go
The crowd attacked him because he was running away after he shot somebody in the head and admitted it. The crowd where calling to the police to arrest him it's on the video, you sure are selective in what you want to believe.
They called to the police after the second volley of gunshots. As to why the police didn't detain him then and not question him, that's another question.
It occurred to me there is plenty of talk about Kyle Rittenhouse without the usual focus on the victims. If Rittenhouse was a Muslim fundamentalist, journalists wouldn't even "give him the satisfaction" of saying his name aloud. Here are the victims. Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, shot in the head. He had a fiancee and a daughter. He's from Texas and moved to Kenosha recently. According to rightwing media, he's also a registered sex offender, if that's somehow relevant. Anthony Huber, 26, skateboarder shot while engaging Rittenhouse. A Kenosha local. Gaige Grosskreutz, 26, shot in the arm. Volunteer medic for People's Revolution Movement. https://www.jsonline.com/story/comm...est-shooting-what-we-know-victims/5635760002/ All three caucasian. Maybe not surprising given how white Wisconsin is. But I think worth noting given the racial dynamics here.
The teen may be convicted of unlawful open carry since he may be too young, but desides that its obvious self defense. He was shot at, attacked and fired back.
Did the guy at any point physically assault him? So using bad language is now a reason to use deadly force? How about the fact that cops told him to not go into the area? He threw a freakin garbage bag at him and he had no time to inflict any bodily harm before the shots were fired.
Was he physically assaulted before he shot the 1st guy? All I saw was somebody throw a trash bag at him.
You are correct that we don't know what proceeded the initial act. But we do know that Rittenhouse was criminal carrying an assault rifle and was anti-prtoester in his sentiment. If someone opposed to you with a drawn firearm approaches it would be reasonable to fear for your life and those around you. I absolutely agree that nobody should be running around with guns at these gatherings. And this result is the reason why. Two people are dead and this kid's freedom may be gone and his quality of life is damaged no matter what. Even if he manages to stay out of jail nobody, including him, is better off for his actions. And everyone is worse for them.
They shot before he did. Thats easy self defense. Props to the nyt reporter who actually proved his innocence
Yes it does if you are rushing at me with intent to do bodily injury Once you get to me I’m putting you down ...that is self defense
