Fck them all...rip up the contract, recruit new players from college...there are thousands willing to play for minimum wage right now.
I just don't see how the players could possibly play any games in a world where a black man armed with a knife can be wounded while fighting with cops to avoid arrest on a felony warrant. Until things change, we need to shut down the NBA in solidarity.
I'm thinking next season will be a lot better for the Astros, so yeah, shut down the MLB as well.....The Texans will probably never be any good so we can just permanently shut down the NFL.
I don't think the season is over but I wouldn't be disappointed if it was. I'd rather have them play until the finals but right after tip off everybody walks off/ launches into social improvement messages or prospective programs.
You don’t think college kids are passionate about social injustice? They want to play, we want them to play, they’re standing up for their brothers/sisters/fellow Americans at the detriment to their livelihood. As fellow countrymen it is our duty and obligation to stand with them. This is bigger than the game.
My guess is within a week or it’s over. Too many parties will have to be brought back to table if if goes for longer than that. I mean, at this very moment sponsors and programmers are calling the league office nonstop for answers. Interested to see if any owners break from the pack.
To be honest, losing the platform where you get to speak out makes no sense. If players as athletes don't know how to leverage their fame, then going home and becoming slowly forgotten makes even less sense. So you get to go protest, but give it some time and no one will care what they have to say if they are not playing as they will be like any other dude at the rec center. The people who make a difference and sway the public use their platform. In short, I applaud the sentiment, but they are preaching to the choir. Their targeted audience already agrees with them, it's the ones whose minds they have to change that they need the platform for, losing that will not do anything long term.
Hey, all good! I understand! I was the same at that age. And it isn't a right or wrong choice. It's just choices people make. For those that would continue to watch as much as before, all good!
