I am seeing pictures from China of it basically being back to normal, and it makes me sad. Not mad at China. But sad that America could not be there at this point in the pandemic.

Who knows. Maybe they will have a second wave because of this like we did from reopening too quickly.

I'd rather be in quarantine than that pool.

China has a central socialist/communist government that rules the whole country. No luxury of freedom to protest or voice your opinion or autonomous statehood.
    You're welcome to it.

Yeah, wouldn’t go that far. China’s success in handling the virus is just their totalitarianism.

Just watched a documentary on how much they changed in the last 20...10...5...2 years. Went from cash, to debit, to mobile epay in 5 years.

Tech and tech adoption part of their (and other Asian countries) success in containing this. They're doing contact tracing and quarantines with phones tied to their social media accounts (which is tied to everything from bank accounts to utility bills) and QR code scanners.

Not sure Americans want to do or consider that kind of stuff here.

The other part is that their big scary government doesn't have to force them to wear a godd*mn mask to prevent spreading to others...

But yeah, their authoritarianism means they can lock down a city with 5-15 million people and tell them to do whatever they feel like doing or get ****ed up by their police.

Oddly enough, little less than half of the Americans here want police to **** up certain people who don't comply with arbitrary rules.

Maybe there is something we can adopt from them....

    fwiw,

First Covid-19 reinfection documented in Hong Kong SAR.

Hong Kong U Researchers ion Monday reported what appears to be the first confirmed case of Covid-19 reinfection, a 33-year-old man who was first infected by SARS-CoV-2 in late March and then, four and a half months later, seemingly contracted the virus again while traveling in Europe.

The case raises questions about the durability of immune protection from COV-19

in this case, Hong Kong U researchers sequenced the virus from the patient’s two infections and found that they did not match, indicating the second infection was not tied to the first. There was a difference of 24 nucleotides — the “letters” that make up the virus’ RNA — between the two infections.

not just Asian countries, so too have Italy, Spain, UK, Ger, Canada, Aussies, NZ, etc been able to contain C-19

It is sad to say the sucker black hair Xi did a better job in this virus control than orange hair Trump, which is very embarrassing, against democratic voter intelligence IQ.
