I might move George for the right offer. He’s on the other side of 30 and will want a huge contract, you’re not going to get a discount from him, I’d hate to see him walk away for no return, and he hasn’t been very good this year anyway, so getting out now could make sense. Yankees could afford to resign him, if they made a fair offer I’d be all over it I think. Don’t think Clint Frazier and Clark Schmidt would be enough, but it’s a start.

I honestly think that would be enough for me.
FRAZIER needs some fielding help so LF would be a better spot for him.

Clint Frazier for a month and a half of Springer is MORE than enough. If the Yankees offered that... it would probably be foolish to turn that down. Multiple years of control for a top OF hitting prospect with multiple tools. Especially if the Astros front office is inclined to think George is considering testing FA and has declined a solid offer already

The Astros are not trading George Springer to the Yankees.

The Astros ownership has zero interest in making the Yankees stronger while the Astros are still competitive. If the wheels fall off or if the general manager decides that the Astros just don't have enough then possibly.

Also there is a reason Clint Frazier isn't getting more playing time in NY. The Yankees are good at evaluating players.

No you didn't.. you said "He has one bad game get passed that."

Anyway... no way that trade gets made or is even considered and if somehow the miraculous happens and it does get made, no way Correa signs with the Reds.

Correa isn't re-signing with the Reds. For years he has wanted to play in a Houston sized market or larger. The Reds would have to grossly over pay him. The Reds interest in Correa was to win now. The Astros are certainly not getting Castillo and Senzel for Correa.

The Astros are not looking to unload players like Springer unless they just fall on their face and there are more injuries as well.

I wouldn't think they would either, but its intriguing. I was in New York at a meeting for my company and the local radio station there was talking about New York trying to get another OF. They mention two names and Springer was one of them. Then they said last week there was supposedly an offer to the Astros already made and they turned it down.

I'm not questioning the fa t of that I'm just saying if it were true. I wouldn't have passed on that. Not me. I think Springer has to go

Trading Springer means losing his intangibles and I doubt Brantley would be too happy about that move either.

Why would the Reds make that trade?

If you're being funny/sarcastic, here is the reason

"Better players for there team overall.
They get a stud young Ss and a up and coming SP. Yes up and coming . He has one bad game get passed that.
Senzel is barely back from injury and Castello is iffy at the moment. Reds are in a good division to easily come up in and make the playoffs"

If you are being serious, see the previous page

I am being completely serious, the Reds aren't trading 5 years of Senzel and 3 years of Castillo for one season of Carlos Correa ( and your Bielak throw in).

The Reds aren't in a win at all costs this year and next mode, they are still lining up for 2022-2025 as their best window.

Weirdest name I have heard connected to the Astros today (by someone in the organization)?

    Andrelton Simmons.

I have no idea... he is going to be a free agent.... maybe Bregman is hurt worse than expected? Is Correa going to DH?

    I have no rational explanation.

Correa trade in the works? Seems like the only rational explanation. Even then, he’s been our most productive hitter thus far. Very interesting. Thanks for the scoops @Nook

Strange...although Bregman is out at least 3 weeks according to the report yesterday. That only gives you two weeks left in the season...if he's able to come back at that point (and it's a hammy so who really knows).

Guessing Correa goes to 3rd and Toro gets sent back to the bench.
Maybe we can get him and Dylan Bundy in a deal. Saw the Angels are weighing offers for Bundy and he's got another year on his contract after this one...sort of fits the Astros mold (although with Luhnow gone, who knows). Simmons to short, Correa to 3rd while Bregman's out, Bundy into the rotation.

I imagine the Angels will want young pitching back.

I expect Astros to make a small move or 2 to acquire a reliever. If something shakes out bigger, it would likely need to be other team dumping a rental.

Simmons addition would make absolutely no sense. I don’t see us moving Correa to 3B either. Maybe Click is eying selling high on Correa...would be sad to see him go. Was hoping we could keep him long term, but one roster is not big enough for Simmons and Correa. Both are going to play SS.

It doesn't make much sense to me either, however it has been discussed recently.
