No I’m not okay with it. I’d prefer to see the full context of the speech or dialog in which it was said. For someone who is supposedly a racist, he sure hires a lot of minorities and women. You’d think if he really was discriminatory, he wouldn’t. But hey, some people are more sensitive to words and can’t work through it.

How do you rationalize Biden’s history of bigoted actions? I look at Biden as someone who has evolved over time and understands what was normal in the past has always been wrong. Same thing w/ my Dad or anyone else from that era....that actually changes or appears to change. I think that’s one area that the MSM has helped with up until recently. Tolerance and acceptance. Now they’ve done a 180 and are pushing hate.

The context for saying some Mexicans were good was after he said they were rapists. The context for claiming a Republican Federal Judge wasn't qualified to do his job was not only what he said, but he filed a legal motion to have the judge removed from a case. This wasn't in less enlightened past. These things happened during his campaign and presidency.

I don't excuse anything Biden has done. But I look at Biden's actions and compare them to Trump's. Biden looks squeaky clean in comparison.

If we make a t-chart with racist words and actions of Biden on one side and Biden's words and actions that push for the cause of equality and civil rights on the other, the side of working toward and advancing the cause of equality and civil rights win. And is miles above Trump, who has only one spec on that side.

Trump has literally done nothing to advance the cause. Zero. He's done much against it.

Hiring people of a race doesn't change someone's bigotry. Serial Killers don't murder every person they see, but they do commit murder just the same.

The MSM is absolutely guilty of pushing conflict, sensationalizing things, and publicizing the most extreme examples of either side. I agree with you on that. But Trump as well has done nothing but encourage division in treating red states differently than blue states in regards to medical equipment and supplies regarding the pandemic, posting YouTube videos of his supporters shouting White Power at Trump protestors and not criticizing it even after he was advised to take it down, saying that people marching and chanting that 'Jews will not replace us' were good people, etc. He's been nothing but divisive. I can't think of one single issue where he's put forward even a minimal effort to be inclusive.

Our cities haven't been stirred by civil unrest this bad in decades. That's on his watch.

Old people being shocked and aghast at younger people dancing never tires. It's been happening for more than one hundred years.

I rationalize Biden's bad choices in the past because today he at least listens to the popular sentiments held within the Black community and other minority comminties rather than dismiss them and paint all their causes as riots and unAmerican.

Listening is a good way to be on good graces. Trump doesn't listen. He just antagonizes.

“White Supremacist” Is the New “Racist”
    Dave Schuler August 22, 2020

Today I’ve read several pieces by individuals with whom I have rarely agreed with full throat but thought were more or less sane in which the term “white supremacist” was applied pretty casually, rather as “racist” has been for a number of years now. I’m old enough to remember when there were actual living, breathing white supremacists around and white supremacy was actually a mainstream position in some states.

I think they should be more sparing in their use of the term, reserving it for, you know, actual white supremacists. When every person of primarily European descent (and a lot of people of Middle Eastern, North African, or even East Asian) descent who do anything other than sit around in glum silence are accused of being white supremacists, the time when the phrase not only has no meaning but no longer has any force is not far away.
