Clutchfans Game Thread: Rockets @ Thunder 8/22/2020 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 3)

Rivers and Gordon were complete negatives tonight. Gordon especially so, he was taking terrible shots early in the clock.

MDA not playing RoCo at all when the Rockets are up 5 with under a minute left and just need defense. Play him over Gordon!

Tucker being careless with the ball when inbounding. We had two timeouts.

BUT tbh 2-1 without WB would be expected and I would have taken it prior but Rockets had this! 3-0 and we could comfortably sit WB till Round 2.

Now, I feel like we should entertain the thought of playing him in Game 4 because if the Thunder somehow even this up, geez.

 

horribly officiated first half, sloppy offensive play for most of the night (a lot of mishandles and missed layups), missed open 3s, foul trouble, inexcusable inbounds pass, and still without one of our better players - it still took overtime to beat us.

gordon and/or rivers need to step up with or without Russ coming back.

Scola might be a bit too nice but that's about it.

Landry got Nowitzki's tooth embedded into his forearm on D'ing him up, which basically means he elbowed Nowitzki in the mouth while being shorter than him.

Chuck Hayes is a freaking legend as far as I'm concerned.

 

Awful focus and effort in the last minute of regulation. This was a horrible loss.

 

Harden was not the problem.

 

Russ needs to come back for game 4. It's time.

 

Well it’s pretty clear who the MVP is. Harden dragging these guys to contention.

House shouldn’t have helped on that Paul drive that led to SGA 3. But it is what it is it. Golden opportunity missed.

House cost the rockets the game I would say

 

Eric Gordon is GARBAGE...his play is incredibly embarrassing

he's always rushing and out of control, and his jumper is buns...he is the most unwatchable player in the league

his constant stupid plays make Russ look like basketball's Elon Musk

his constant b*tching on every drive yelling and throwing his hands up

I can't stand this dude

 

He's shooting Steph Curry type shot but he's currently a Draymond Green type shoter. I really don't want to see Gordon bomb another 35 footer.

 

House came off his man and OKC hit a 3. How dumb can you be? A 3 beats you and a 2 just ties it and gives you the ball back to win it and you come off your man at the 3 point line. He then gets a chance to make up for the mistake and give the team the lead and he misses a free throw. Don’t play stupid and you win the game.

 

There's no way OKC win 3 of their next 4 regardless. CP3 won't score 20 plus points again. I doubt any of the other guys will score over 20 plus points. They're not that strong of an offensive team.... so as long as we don't play dumb and play some defense, we'll outscore them.

We played dumb towards the end. Stupid inbound plays, leading a wide open 3 when you could have let CP3 take the 2.... we would have still been in control of the game. We were in control all game besides the last 4 minutes.

We have to shoot better. Harden's kinda gone off the boil with his 3pt shooting in the last 2 games. Harden isn't the only one with bad 3pt shooting at the moment. I don't trust Gordon at all. I feel he's bringing the team down. He has way too many of those games. How can you have 24 shots and only score 18 points? He also had 5 turnovers.

I know I said House lost us the game, but he did have a good game. I feel he's one of the few who did well tonight. House, Harden and Green played well for the most part. I know Harden shot terribly from the 3pt line, but he did everything else well. Gordon, Rivers, Tucker, and even Covington are literally offering us nothing on the offensive end most games.

 

You can tell the game is rigged still no excuse for giving in but clearly the fix is in the Rockets should have won this game. The fouls that were called against the rockets would give OKC momentum. The fouls against OKC were called but its when they were called is a bit concerning. The Rockets will roast them next game. Clearly the refs neutralized the Rockets aggressiveness when they put 3 fouls on Covington in the first half

 

And the turnover after the Harden free throw was a BAD CALL. Adams 100% touched it. Doris is a b**** too.

 

Well sheeeit how did I miss that?
