I know this was a couple games ago, but what bout in that fakers game, Steve was diving into the crowds for a loose ball and then he goes into the rows and jumps couple of more rows, then he decides to pick up a lady's cell phone and act like he is speeking to someone. Shouldn't he have gotten fined for that? Like in the NFL you would get fined for something like that. It was really funny though. There were some fine girls next to him too. What do you guys think??

Getting Fined? Why? What has Steve done anything wrong? I think his act is as hilarious as Shaq's in the All Star Game.

this incident enraged me. maybe if it was first quarter and were up, but at the time we were down with like 1 minute and steve had just turned the ball over on a careless play. i forget what exactly happened but i know he did that at the wrong time. it all goes back to his flash and immaturity, he always wants to be on sports center win or lose. i was pissed

Jim Jackson gave Steve one of his famous short armed passes and Steve ran it down but got called for the turnover instead.

Were you enraged when Steve running and jumping out of bound in an attempt to save the ball that was going out of bound? Oh yeah, that was for SportCenter too, right?

    you need a vacation.

football is more dangerous and emotional - they stop the celebrations (a move I personnally didn't like) because of that emotional element - players start celebrating and someone takes it the wrong way and takes their head off next position.

Basketball is a looser sport than football - and SF3's move was harmless. Players are encouraged to have a little fun with the fans in the league - since it is (allegely) a non-contact sport - and the fans can sit right on top of the action. You can also refocus quicker in basketball since the action is so intense

Fun is not allowed in basketball.

Laughter is not allowed in basketball.

Seriousness wins games (and makes your teammates appreciate you more).

The best way to relieve stress and frustration that players may experience in a basketball game is to act like a robot.

Time to stop having fun, and play ball.

That was WAY diffrent then what happen in the nfl. Horn put that cell phone there before the game knowing he was going to use it as a celabration prop. with steve the phone was just there and he picked it up as a joke.

it was harmless, but still a little annoying. kind of a cheeseball thing to do, much like when steve makes a dunk or layup and hangs on the rim w/ one hand and points to a teammate w/ the other. he does it all the time and they always show it going into commercials. again, its harmless, but a little annoying.

his cell phone thing was different than nfl players doing it cause it was not premeditated.

either way, im sure van g was not amused...

Something tells me that If Yao had done it, you'd think it was part of his great personality.

I don't think there was any similarity between what Steve did and what the NFL players did. Steve didn't plant this before the game. I thought it was funny. It probably made the people's day who were sitting there.

and wasn't it going about 100 mph? i don't know if jj threw it or it got knocked away but it was going warp speed for a 10 foot pass.

Charles Barkley used to sit down next to fans and act like he was going to drink their beer. It was hilarious. I just don't see the issue.

I agree - another point, being too intense in a basketball game (which requires more than brute strength and speed - like football) can cause a player to tighten up and overshoot/undershoot the ball... having a little fun is not going to casue a player to lose focus (in fact... it might help)
