Lol no. but maybe you play him very very few min in first game or longer if we are able to win w/o him. Because no way we go all the way unless he is 95% healthy.
Rockets are playing with chemistry, its hard to insert player x into this right now. I would let him fully get healed, and then implement him into the lineup off the bench. It has something to do with tuck, gordon, harden, house. Green is that player you normally dont see but he been a big success with this lineup. I would even say bring him back only if this series gets tied up. So game 5 off the bench? or even maybe game 6. But ya he need to get his feet wet for the Lakers. It could be where he wont even get a chance to play cause the rockets might sweep this if there lucky.
Gotta see if he will be ready soon. I would bring Russ off the bench around the 10 minute mark. I would like to play Covington in the last 7 minutes or so. I’m happy at Gordon’s driving but his 3 point shooting isn’t good. Mad props to House for his first big playoff success! Rivers had a good shooting night and I loved it when he woke all of us up with that huge dunk just when it was needed!
I’ve been a HUGE proponent since he’s been here of never really starting EGo. I get it right now with Russ hurt. but Babcock in the playoffs against the Spurs when Nene got hurt and for some reason MDA used that as an opportunity to completely change his rotations and start EGo I didn’t get it. And heck even bringing in Lou Will I didn’t really get as it was basically the same role as EGo. then the yo yo ing back and forth starting or not of him since. he’s best off the bench when everyone is healthy. That gives you more size in all lineups while still playing small ball. If both of Harden and Russ are out that means you are teaming EGo with Rivers and that actually works offensively. And defensively better than having EGo start at SF where you take small ball to the extreme. as much as anything, it’s easier playing against bench players generally. And to the extent that helps EGo feel better about his shot or just drive more freely, I’m all for it. and let’s be honest if he’s not hitting threes, he becomes a lesser version of Westbrook. And you don’t need two of those out there at once. and finally, though perhaps most importantly, don’t **** up House’s groove. in other words, Russ starts. EGo to bench.
cmon baby we 09ers gotta do better than that!! Zero chance of Russ coming off the bench my guy. MDA should instead be trying to figure out how the heck he can start Green. My rotation would look like this: James-Russ-ROCO-PJ-Green = STARTERS Splash-House-Benny Mac-Rivers = BENCH thats DEEEEP!!! Not even bringing in situational guys like Carroll and Bruno.
Exactly what I was thinking bro. The chemistry right now is winning games. Slowly implement Westbrook off the bench to get his feet wet and smash second units. Get ready for the second round. If it blows games wide open then keep his ass on the bench. Throw different looks at our opponents. If not, put him back in the starting lineup.
No he should start. If they want to ease him in for health precaution, just start him, but go with minutes restrictions.
That starting lineup with Gordon off the bench would be ideal but I think we have too many guards in our bench rotation. I think it would be difficult to rotate our "Bigs" around if Roco, PJ and Green all start. I think that is why MDA has hinted at Gordon starting even with House playing so well because the rotations would be easier.
You say this as if you don't want to ruin what's going on right now. Let me just say this, WE CANNOT WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP WITHOUT RUSSEL WESTBROOK.
