He is a proven scorer and would really fit in nicely with the Rockets. He can play either power forward or small forward. If you ask me, I think we should go after Robert Horry, but since he isn't coming anymore, Anthony Mason should be our target.

Because he is old and he is not viewed as one of those veterans that can come in and be a mentor to our young guys. He has been a problem in every clubhouse that he has been part of.

What about Laetnerr, I read that the Wizards are going to cut him loose.

Averaged 13 ppg, 6 rpg and 49 FG% at Washington. Tall, can shoot jump shot...hmmm

IMHO, even without a "checkered" past, Mason's expected asking price will make him cost prohibitive for the Rocks. Plus, I just don't see him as a Rudy T type player. Eddie Robinson is a better fit (age & athleticism)at about $2m per year cheaper.

Laettner maybe for the right price. Last season he made $6.6m. I'd rather throw that kind of money at Nazr Mohammed or Marc Jackson.

If we some how keep all three picks we will REALLY need the money for guaranteed contracts.

I hope your joking. He is lazy and has a bad attitude. For the guy who said that the Magic and Heat would regret not picking them, he has been a real barn burner. He is the absolute last person in the league I want on this team, ok Stockton and Malone aside.

    Rosie Palm doesn't count. [IMG]

And to stay somewhat on-topic. I like Mason's game and he'd be an enforcer we could use. But he's a thug and has off-court problems. I wanted the guy on the Rockets in the past, but I don't want him on this team anymore simply because his age makes things even worse.

The "I fell out of the ugly tree" category?

Or.... the "I'm just like Mark Chmura except I actually schtooped her" category?

Mason said that he wants to go on a team that has a chance of winning a ring. Houston right now is not there.

Just noting... Mason was fine with the Heat. He's not a great guy, but he doesn't seem to be a locker room cancer on par with Rider or Rodman.

Mason in his prime, had some skills that could help teams, and an attitude problem that could kill a team.

He is past his prime now. I haven't heard that much about his attitude lately though, so I have no idea if he has grown wiser with age. Either way I say the Rockets should stay away from him.

Might wanna look into that, his numbers are much higher then his career average. in points he had one season where he did better, and rebounds only one year where he did significantly better. With our center situation, i dont know if i would want to have to trust him to defend shaq, kobe, david, and company when we are in foul trouble. but itd be incorrect to say hes past his prime at this point.

    Past his prime?

Aside from his '96-'97 campaign, last season was his best performance ever!

I would love to see Mason on this team. He's tough as nails on the boards and is a great passer; just what the Rockets need.

Rarely do I play the "I've got inside info" card, I'll do it here.

Anthony Mason is a a whiner, a pouter, a camaraderie killer and a clubhouse cancer.

We wont touch him, nor should we.

I would pass him up becauseI don't think he would want to play with a young team like the Rockets. He also could cause more problems for us because of his past behavior.
