No way the Kings make that deal. Even if they flame out in the first round this year, I'd expect Webber to be on the block before trading all those other guys. And SF and CM in the Kings' passing system. Come on.
I haven't heard Bobby Jackson's name mentioned. I think that he's our guy if he is available. But the Kings are definitely seeing his worth since he's been out, so it would probably be difficult to pry him away.
Trade JVG, Francis was fine until this season. The team should be 5-6 in the west. If we had have gotten Larry Brown we would be fine.
You know what that's really interesting. I wonder what this team would be like under Larry Brown. What kind of offensive philosophy would he have? I personally think JVG is doing a good job, but you gotta wonder.
How many rings in that crew? I think Steve is mentally strong . . I think JVG has helped him some If we move him now. . . .we will regret it Rocket River
I agree I said at the beginning of the season we needed a 50 game season to justify letting rudy go . . . because i really feel and felt at the time that we would have gone to the playoffs this season under Rudy. every here BAMing said 'MAKING THE PLAYOFFS IS ALL THAT COUNTS' not the number of wins. . . .well now it would seem they lied Rocket River
At least I have something concrete (#'s) to show for, what do you have? Oh yeah... team philosophy. Exactly what have Andre done to show team philosophy? Because he had a 10 assist season? That was 2 seasons ago, he is at 6.5 ast last couple of seasons, what happened to his team philosophy? The career low's are to show that Francis is having a bad year, which Andre also had. You want career high's? Here!! <table> <tr><th align=center>Name<th align=center>Fg<th align=center>Ft<th align=center>Pt3<th align=center>Reb<th align=center>Ast<th align=center>Stl<th align=center>To<th align=center>Blk<th align=center>Pts <tr><td align=left>AM<td align=right>0.454<td align=right>0.817<td align=right>0.253<td align=right>4.6<td align=right>10.9<td align=right>1.60<td align=right>3.0<td align=right>0.40<td align=right>16.5 <tr><td align=left>SF<td align=right>0.451<td align=right>0.817<td align=right>0.396<td align=right>6.9<td align=right>6.5<td align=right>1.80<td align=right>3.3<td align=right>0.40<td align=right>19.9 </table> So, how is Andre better so much better than Steve again???!!! Next time you do some research on your own before making ridiculous claims. And do you think Andre can average .400 in 3pt shooting, or 7reb, or 21pts on any team? Yeah, lame arguement, just like your's. The point of all this was not to show how much Steve is better than Andre (which he is not), but to show Andre is no better than Steve. If we are going to make a move, why do a lateral one? At least we know Steve is hard working, goes all out, and tries when it comes to defense. Andre, like Steve, haven't done anything in his career to show that he can push his team over the top, so why all this kissy kissy love for him?
I agree 100%. Hinrich is on the worst team in the NBA and is still shooting 38%. He has a quality Big man in Curry and he doesn't know how to utilize him either. If you all think Francis' defense is bad wait until you see hinrich on an every game basis. Hinrich is in the mold of the Maloney and Brent Price and when those guys were here with Olajuwon you guys wanted to run them out.
Francis can be traded, it just depends who we get for him. I think there are a few trade partners that are perfect for us and them: Chicago - This team NEEDS star power badly. They need excitement and a veteran. They don't want more draft picks and any more youth. With as bad as their season's been and as stellar as Francis is against the bulls this is a reasonable spot for him to land. Bulls get an All-Star to run their offense. Reinsdorf isnt a big B-ball guy but wants to make money and have butts in the seats. Francis can bring that excitement. Hinrich and Draft Pick (Okafor!!) for Francis or: Hinrich/Draft Pick/Antonio Davis for Francis and Cato I'm not enamored by Hinrich, but he is an adept passer and great 3-pt shooter. If anyone is worried about shooting %, then realize how many open looks he'll get w/ Yao versus what he got in Chicago. Detroit - Larry Brown is fed up with Chauncey Billups and his shooting and may be willing to give him up for francis who he's always liked and doesn't have to patience for Darko or could give up Rasheed. Sign-n-Trade Rasheed and Billups for Francis and Cato Trade Billups and Darko for Francis DREAM SCENARIOS!!! Orlando - If they don't think McGrady will resign they may have to give him up in order to not lose him for free. Francis and Mobley for T-Mac and Juwan Howard. The Magic will probably have the best backcourt in the east if they are allowed the pre-Yao rockets style that killed the east a few years back. They also want out of Juwan Howards contract. we'll be pretty weak at the PG spot but could try to sign a Brent Barry for the exception and a little more: Yao Cato Howard Taylor Jackson Nachbar T-Mac Pike Barry Wilks (or some random shooter ala Maloney b/c the Rockets will play a Sacramento style offense inside out.) Washington: Gilbert Arenas and Kwame Brown for Steve Francis. Arenas is very similar to Francis but this will net us Kwame as well who could turn into a steller 4 if he has Yao there to help erase his mistakes and let him just defend and rebound till his offense comes around. Seattle: Ray Allen is in the last year of his deal and they are full in the swing positions with Flip Murray/Ray Allen/ Brent Barry/ Vlad Radmonovic and Rashard Lewis. If we took Allen and a bad contract (Jerome James) Seattle may bite for Steve and another player seeing how they need a point guard.
I will never believe that you have watched Hinrich play. Absolutely no way. I have watched him for ONE game, so I'll keep my judgement to myself. However, when JVG calls someone a good defensive player, then you better believe he's an excellent defender.
If you are considering trading Francis, make sure your dreamtrading is to the Eastern Conference. Francis has a vengeful streak, and he will surely feel toward us as Ahab did toward Moby Dick. The only place where we will truly get full value for Steve is Washington, where he is the hometown hero. A direct trade has possibilities, but a three-way probably will be the best route, especially if we wind up with a player (McGrady? Allen?) and/or a very high draft choice. However, IMO nothing can or should be contemplated until we know the draft order. Start warming up your trade engine, Hottoddie.
I think in the end Rockets fans, at least most from what I see posted, will be amazed at how little other teams see in Francis and how little they really want him, his huge contract and his pea-sized brain.
Summer 2004: Steve Francis for Ray Allen, Brent Barry for MLE, Rasheed Wallace with the 6.9M T.E. Get it Done!
I don't believe you can get anything trading Francis for a PG this offseason. For his cost + known crappy playing, you think other teams would trade Hinrich or even a Jwill for him? Any deal like that would probably be in a seperate deal sending other value we have. Package Francis + someone for a forward and take our chances with young cheap talent like Micheal Pietrus or Raul Lopez
Francis for Elton Brand each team improves equal value to both teams similar contracts we have to go find a pg they have to go find a pf lets do it. it will stop the Francis bashing And we can all complain about brand what do you think?
