    Yes.
    He was a city councilman. He wrote a *check* to pay for a prostitute, resigned, asked for forgiveness, and ran for city council again and won. Then he ran for mayor and won. After serving he became a journalist, then anchorman for the local station. Then he got recruited for the Jerry Springer Show. It was initially positioned as a Donahue type show but the ratings tanked. So they brought in a new producer, and day time television has never been the same. I heard this on This American Life, so forgive me if I made a mistake.

    A few years ago KPRC was running old Springer eps late at night. There were old people in the audience and the topic was about the Guiness Book of World Records. I thought I was in bizarro world.
